摘要： A computer-working-environment apparatus that can be used on and transferred between a plurality of computers. The apparatus comprises: a memory, a computer-working-environment software and one identification code. The computer-working-environment software is stored in the memory, and will be automatically installed on a computer when the computer-working-environment apparatus is connected to the computer for the first time. The identification code is stored in the memory, and the computer-working-environment software installed in the computer needs to verify the identification code from the connected computer-working-environment apparatus to activate the apparatus. In the process, as the computer-working-environment apparatus is connected to the first computer, the computer-working-environment software can store a plurality of data relevant to the first “working environment” as presented by the first computer; subsequently, when the computer-working-environment apparatus is connected to the second computer, the data will be read and then input into the second computer so that the second computer can be operated as in the “working environment” of the first computer.

摘要： An electrical connector includes a dielectric housing and a number of contacts. One side of the dielectric housing defines a number of passageways for receiving the contacts. The contact includes a retention portion to secure the contact in the dielectric housing. The retention portion defines at least one through hole in the center. The housing is stamped and a corresponding number of projecting portions are extruded into the through holes after the contacts are inserted into the housing, thereby securing the contacts in the housing.

The base includes an extending portion (12) with a projection (1212) and a hook portion (1214) inwardly formed a top of the projection. The actuator includes an operational lever (32) and an axle (33) engaged with the operational lever. A coil spring (34) is mounted around the axle and defines a first end (342) at a free end thereof. A retention clip (60) is mounted on the projection and includes a base portion (61), a first and second extending walls (62, 63) extending from two opposite ends of the base portion. The coil spring is attached to the operational lever and rotates under force from the operational lever, and the retention clip is tightly fastened on the projection, thereby the operational lever can only be retained in a first position or a second position.

摘要： A contact comprises an upper beam and a lower beam both of which are connected by two side plates at two ends thereof. An upper spring arm extends from the upper beam and a lower spring arm extends from the lower beam. The upper spring arm having a contacting section substantially located at a highest position of the contact. The lower spring arm has a soldering tail substantially located at a lowest position of the contact. When the side plates and the soldering tail are fixed in position and the contacting section of the upper spring arm is urged by an external force, the upper beam will be twisted for a predetermined angle to transmit a tension to the contacting section.

摘要： A socket for interconnecting a PGA package with a circuit board comprises a base, a cover slidably attached to the base, and supporting means downwardly extending from the base. The base comprises a pair of extension plates diagonally extending therefrom. The supporting means in the form of a pair of standoffs is formed on the respective extension plates. Since each standoff has a height slightly smaller than that of solder balls formed on a lower surface of the base, the standoffs rest on the circuit board after the socket is soldered thereto. By such a design, the external force employed to actuate the cover to slide along the base is transferred from the base to the standoffs. Hence, deformation of the base and damage to the solder joint are obviated to ensure a reliable connection between the PGA package and the circuit board.

摘要： A socket connector includes a fixed base and a movable cover slidably positioned on the base for moving between a closed position and an open position. A control plate is movably retained between the base and the cover and defines first and second holes, each having an arcuate edge and an opposite straight edge. A bore reinforced by a metal collar is defined in the cover for rotatably receiving a screwdriver. The control plate is manually moved between first and second positions corresponding to the closed and open positions of the cover whereby the first and second holes selectively align with the bore. When closing/opening the cover, the screwdriver is inserted into the first/second hole through the bore with an edge thereof engaging with the bore whereby rotating the screwdriver moves the cover toward the closed/open positions.
