摘要: A drive unit for a motor vehicle with a cooling system is provided. The drive unit has a hydrodynamic retarder with a rotor vane wheel and a stator vane wheel. The hydrodynamic retarder is arranged in the vehicle cooling circuit and the working medium of the retarder is also the vehicle cooling medium. The retarder can empty a residual liquid quantity against the outside pressure created by the cooling system.

摘要: A drive unit includes a motor, a hydrodynamic retarder, at least one pump, at least one feed line for feeding operating medium to the retarder, and at least one bypass line which conveys operating medium past the retarder. A device for directing the flow of operating medium is arranged upstream of the retarder in the direction of flow. The device can feed the operating medium through the retarder via the feed line, feed the operating medium past the retarder via a bypass line, or divide the total flow of operating medium into at least two predetermined parts. A first predetermined part of the operating medium is fed through the retarder via the feed line. A second predetermined part of the operating medium is conveyed past the retarder via the bypass line.

The regulating device is characterized in that the at least one control/regulator unit controls the at least one actuator in order to adjust the braking moment of the primary braking system according to the measuring signal or measuring signals in such a way that the braking moment of the primary brake is reduced for the entire duration of a gear shift.

摘要: A drive unit includes a hydrodynamic retarder having a rotor paddle wheel, a stator paddle wheel, and a housing surrounding the rotor and stator wheels. The unit includes a coolant cycle system for an internal combustion engine, the coolant for this coolant cycle also being a working medium of the retarder. The drive unit further includes a working medium container for the coolant. A first pipe connects a hydrodynamic center of the retarder to a valve. A second, leakage pipe is disposed between a working medium outlet of the retarder and the valve. A third pipe is disposed between the valve and the working medium container. The valve is designed such that in a first position, a conducting connection is established between the working medium container and the leakage pipe to provide for a pumping operation of the retarder. When the valve is in a second position, a conducting connection is established between the working medium container and the first pipe for a braking operation of the retarder.
