    摘要: A printing mechanism is described comprising a plurality of type carriers (12, 34) which on their outer peripheral face carry in one region printing types and in another region indicator types (44). The printing types can be brought into a printing position by turning the type carriers (12, 34). A setting means (32, 20, 24) including an actuating knob (32) can be brought into a drive connection with each of the type carriers (12, 34) for rotation thereof. Stop means (100, 102, 104, 106, 110) limit the turning travel of the type carriers (12, 34). Detent elements (96) hold the actuating knob against rotation relative to the type carrier (12, 34) which is in drive connection with the setting means (32, 20, 24), with a detent moment governed by the spring hardness of the detent elements. The spring hardness and thus the detent moment are determined so that when a moment is applied greater than the detent moment, rotation is permitted between the actuation knob and the type carrier, and when a moment is applied, there is no relative rotation between the actuation knob and the type carrier, and the type carrier is turned.

    摘要: In the carboxylation of 2-alkali metal naphtholates under pressure and at temperatures of above 200.degree. C., apart from the alkali metal salt of 2-naphthol-3-carboxylic acid and free 2-naphthol considerable amounts of resinous by-products are obtained which according to the hitherto known processes have to be separated and removed in a very expensive manner. According to this invention, the alkali-soluble acidic resins are separated from this carboxylation melt after its solution in water during the work-up of the carboxylation product by means of a cationic quaternary ammonium compound. These surface-active compounds precipitate the alkali-soluble acidic resins in such a manner that they can be easily removed from the alkali metal salts of 2-hydroxynaphthalene-3-carboxylic acid dissolved in water.

    摘要: A printing mechanism is described which comprises a plurality of setting wheels (16) mounted coaxially on a sleeve (28). With the setting wheels type bands (20) carrying printing types (22) are in a drive connection. In the sleeve (28) a setting shaft (42) is arranged rototably and axially displaceably. In the sleeve a slot (30) extending in the axial direction is disposed through which a tooth (36) disposed on the setting shaft engages in radial recesses (46) in the hub region of the setting wheels. A detent means comprising detent recesses in the inner region of the sleeve, into which an axially immovable detent element (54) engages, defines axial detent positions of the setting shaft. In the sleeve at least one further slot extending in the axial direction is disposed. The detent recesses are disposed in the inner region of the sleeve in a plurality of axial rows and in each row they have a different detent spacing. The detent element can be brought into any desired fixed association with one of the rows of detent recesses.
