Abstract: A wearable arrhythmia monitoring and treatment device for improving confidence in determined arrhythmias prior to treatment includes a plurality of sensing electrodes, one or more therapy electrodes, and an electrode signal acquisition circuit having a plurality of inputs. The electrode signal acquisition circuit is configured to sense a respective signal provided by each of a plurality of different pairings of the plurality of sensing electrodes. The wearable arrhythmia monitoring and treatment device includes a monitoring and detection circuit including at least one processor configured to analyze the respective signals provided by each of the plurality of different pairings of the plurality of sensing electrodes, change a confidence level in a determined arrhythmia condition based on the respective signals provided by the plurality of different pairings of the plurality of sensing electrodes, and initiate a therapy to the patient via the one or more therapy electrodes based on the confidence level.

Abstract: A wearable medical device comprises a garment configured to be worn about a torso of a patient. The wearable medical device further comprises a CPR sensor for detecting a characteristic of a CPR therapy provided to the patient. The CPR sensor is coupled to the garment to provide movement between a stowed position and a deployed position. The CPR sensor is positioned at a center of a chest of the patient when the CPR sensor is in the deployed position. The wearable medical device further comprises an output device. The wearable medical device further comprises a processor configured for processing information from the CPR sensor and providing, to the output device, information about the CPR therapy provided to the patient.

Abstract: A wearable medical device includes an electrode assembly having a plurality of ECG sensing electrodes configured to monitor a cardiac condition of a patient using the device, a call button to initiate a call with a remote location and a transceiver configured to communicate information to and from the wearable medical device. The device includes a memory and a controller having at least one processor configured to execute instructions stored in the memory. The instructions include receiving, via actuation of the call button, a request to initiate a communication link with the remote location, providing, via a user interface, a confirmatory prompt that the patient indicate confirmation to proceed with the request to initiate the communication link with the remote location, and initiating, via the transceiver, the communication link to the remote location responsive to the indication of the confirmation to proceed with the request to initiate the communication link.

Abstract: A wearable medical system includes a wearable defibrillator device. The device includes a water-resistant/waterproof harness to be continuously or nearly continuously worn by a patient; a plurality of ECG sensing electrodes configured to monitor an ECG of the patient; a plurality of therapy electrodes configured to deliver one or more therapeutic pulses of energy to the patient; and a control unit configured to receive the monitored ECG of the patient, and responsive to the detection of a cardiac arrhythmia, provide the one or more therapeutic pulses to the patient via at least one of the plurality of therapy electrodes if the patient does not indicate that the patient is conscious. The system includes a hand-held user interface device configured to wirelessly communicate with the control unit; the interface device includes at least one patient responsiveness button by which the patient can indicate that the patient is conscious.
