摘要: An apparatus is disclosed for maintaining constant fluid pressure and equalized fluid flow among a plurality of downcomer lines through which liquid from a tower is directed. A substantially annular fluid distribution belt is disposed at the circumference of the tower. The fluid distribution belt collects liquid from the tower. At least two outlets direct liquid from the fluid distribution belt out of the tower and into a corresponding number of downcomer lines disposed external to the tower.

摘要: Apparatuses and methods are disclosed herein for separating well fluids into gaseous and liquid components using a single vessel that achieves multiple stages of separation. In one example embodiment, a system for separating a fluid mixture into different components is disclosed. The system comprises a separator. The separator comprises a first inlet configured to receive a stream of the fluid mixture, a first stage separation section configured to provide a first stage of separation to separate the stream into a first liquid, a second liquid, and a gas at a first temperature, and a second stage separation section in fluid communication with the first stage separation section such that the first stage and the second stage separation sections operate at substantially the same pressure. The second stage separation section is configured to provide a second stage of separation to further separate the second liquid at a second temperature.

摘要: The performance of multiple downcomer fractional distillation trays is improved by intercepting the liquid egressing from the bottom of the downcomers in a manner which directs a portion of the liquid along the major axis of decking of the next lower tray. This is accomplished by the use of improved antipenetration pans suspended below the downcomers of the upper tray. The antipenetration pans have extensions running parallel to the decking areas of the next lower tray. A portion of the liquid falling from the upper downcomer flows to the end of the extensions, where it falls onto the lower decking at more distant points than with prior art antipenetration pans.

摘要: A novel fractionation column (1) internal structure consists of groups of fractionation trays in which the upper trays rest upon the bottommost tray of the group, which is the only tray of the group supported by the column wall. Preferably the downcomers (13) or disengagement plates of the upper tray rest upon the tops of the downcomers (13) of the next lower tray. Only the bottom tray is supported as by a ring (12) attached to the column.

摘要: High vapor and liquid capacity counterflow fractionation trays demonstrating superior turndown and performance characteristics include a number of parallel downcomers separated by planar tray decking having unique bidirectional slotted cap valve geometries. Several different arrangements of the bidirectional valves are presented. The raised trapezoids of the bidirectional valves may be arranged in two groups which each face the nearest downcomer, or arranged in lines parallel to the downcomer sidewalls such that trapezoids of neighboring rows face opposite directions. In a third embodiment these bidirectional slotted cap valves are only located in the regions of the decking sections located next to the downcomers.
