    摘要： A packing assembly for a column comprises a cage element which carried a packing element. The packing element comprises a first plurality of parallel plates and a second plurality of parallel plates. The first plurality of parallel plates have peripheries which enable them to be accommodated within a sphere. The second plurality of parallel plates interconnect the first plurality of parallel plates and are positioned normally to the first plurality of parallel plates. The second plurality of parallel plates have peripheries which enable them to also be accommodated within the sphere. The packing element is housed in a spherical cage element which possesses a crush strength sufficient to withstand crushing forces to be encountered when the packing assembly is deployed in a column. The packing element self-orients in the column during use to reduce pressure drop and improve performance during the course of operations.

    摘要： Vapor and liquid passing downward through a vessel are brought into contact within a plurality of distributor assemblies arranged across a horizontal distribution tray located within the vessel. The distributor assemblies have fluid flow paths with different resistances to fluid flow, as by having vapor inlets of at least two different sizes, with the differently sized inlets being located on different assemblies or on different upflow channels of the same assembly. This provides different vapor flow rates and liquid flow rates in different upflow channels. The invention improves the uniformity of liquid distribution over the cross section of the vessel despite elevational differences in liquid levels on the distribution tray or changes in the vapor and or liquid flow rates through the reactor.

The carbonic acid solution within the diffuser is maintained at an elevated pressure. As the carbonic acid solution passes to the exterior of the diffuser, the pressure drop causes an effective mixing of the carbonic acid solution and the water. The carbonic acid solution mixes with the water and the pH of the water is reduced.

As a foamable liquid within the reservoir is discharged from the reservoir by the pressurized air through the discharge tube, pressurized air enters the discharge tube through the venturi opening(s) to create a fluid foam from the foamable liquid. For pest control, the foam generator may be utilized to foam and dispense a foamable pesticide that, preferably, includes a non-repellant, nonionic foaming agent adjuvant. The foamed pesticide may be introduced into walls and relatively inaccessible building locations as well as over the entrances of and into passages and habitats used by pests.

    摘要： A container for holding a fragrant medium is disclosed. Perforations or holes in the container and the fragrant medium allow the fragrance contained inside to be released over time. The fragrant medium may be inserted into a bottom portion of the container. A top portion may then be joined to the bottom portion to form a container for the fragrant medium. The top and bottom portions are joined by a plurality of connection members attached to or molded into each portion. In one embodiment of the present invention, the container is attached to a furnace filter so that the fragrant medium may be dispersed throughout an entire house or building. In another embodiment of the present invention, the container is attached to a computer fan so that the fragrant medium may be dispersed throughout a room.
