Abstract: Antenna apparatus includes a driven trace coupled to a dielectric body and extending parallel to a ground plane. The driven trace includes first and second branches and an impedance-tuning portion that joins the first and second branches. Each of the first and second branches are configured to resonate at a respective radio-frequency (RF) band. The respective RF bands may or may not be the same. The antenna apparatus also includes a first conductive pathway extending from the driven trace through the dielectric body and configured to feed the driven trace. The antenna apparatus also includes a second conductive pathway that extends from the driven trace through the dielectric body and electrically connects the driven trace to the ground plane. The impedance-tuning portion extends between the first and second conductive pathways.

Abstract: A terminal insertion quality monitoring system includes an acceleration sensor disposed on a gripper of a terminal insertion equipment and configured to detect a dynamic acceleration of the gripper while using the gripper to insert a terminal into a housing, a control parameter acquisition device configured to acquire a plurality of control parameters of the terminal insertion equipment while inserting the terminal into the housing, and an artificial intelligence system adapted to classify the detected dynamic acceleration and the acquired control parameters into a plurality of different insertion modes by analyzing and calculating the detected dynamic acceleration and the acquired control parameters. The different insertion modes have a plurality of different grades of terminal insertion quality. The artificial intelligence system is configured to monitor a terminal insertion quality of the terminal according to the insertion mode to which the detected dynamic acceleration and the acquired control parameters correspond.

Abstract: A sensor assembly that includes a sealed housing. A printed circuit board assembly including a first section that includes processing circuitry is disposed within the sealed housing and a second section that includes detection circuitry extends from the sealed housing. The sensor assembly also includes a conductive target movably coupled to the second section of the printed circuit board to vary net voltage of the detection circuitry as the conductive target moves along the second section to provide an output signal. The processing circuitry detects the output signal and converts the output signal into a linear representation of position of the conductive target in relation to the second section.

The mounting frame includes a connector module support structure for supporting the connector module in the passage that defines a confined space oversized relative to the connector body of the connector module to allow a limited amount of floating movement in the confined space in a lateral direction that is perpendicular to the mating direction.

Abstract: An enclosed connection system for mechanically and electrically connecting first and second cables, the cables each including an elongate electrical conductor covered by an insulation layer, includes an insulation piercing connector and an enclosure. The insulation piercing connector includes at least one electrically conductive piercing member and a clamping mechanism. The clamping mechanism is configured and operable to force the at least one piercing member through the insulation layers of the first and second cables and into electrical engagement with the conductors of the first and second cables such that the conductors of the first and second cables are electrically connected to one another through the at least one piercing member. The enclosure is configured to receive and cover the connection and to protect the insulation piercing connector.

Abstract: A protective apparatus for a distribution line conductor includes an elongate tube configured to be installed on the conductor and a plurality of annular members concentrically positioned on the tube and configured to rotate independently of each other. The tube has a longitudinal axis and defines a longitudinally extending chamber configured to receive the conductor. The tube has opposite first and second ends and a longitudinally extending opening from the first end to the second end that facilitates installation of the elongate tube on the conductor. Each annular member includes an outer surface and a plurality of circumferentially-spaced apart members extending outwardly from the outer surface. Each annular member includes a longitudinally extending slot that is configured to align with the longitudinally extending opening of the tube to facilitate installation of the elongate tube and the plurality of annular members as an assembly on the conductor.

Abstract: An electrical cable includes a conductor assembly having a first conductor, a second conductor and an insulator surrounding the first conductor and the second conductor. The insulator has an outer surface and extends along a longitudinal axis for a length of the electrical cable. The conductor assembly has a coating layer on the outer surface of the insulator being conductive defining an inner electrical shield of the electrical cable. A cable shield is wrapped around the conductor assembly and has an inner edge and an outer edge. The outer edge is wrapped over the inner edge to form a flap covering the inner edge and extending along the longitudinal axis. The cable shield engages the inner electrical shield and forms an outer electrical shield exterior of the inner electrical shield.
