Abstract: A welding method includes providing a first connector having a first end, providing a second connector having a second end for being welded to the first end, overlapping the first end and the second end, applying a contactless heating to a central section of the first end and melting an end section of the first end facing the second connector, and cooling the first end and the second end to form a weld connecting the first connector and the second connector. The first connector and the second connector extend in opposite directions from the weld.

Abstract: A hybrid silicone composite for high temperature insulation applications is disclosed. The hybrid silicone composite is formed of a mixture of liquid high consistency silicone rubber and solid high consistency silicone rubber and a thermally decomposable inorganic filler which are compounded together. The compounded material is then injection molded, over molded, compression molded, cast, laminated, extruded, calendered, adhered or dispensed. When the silicone composite is exposed to a high temperature, it forms an inorganic composite and maintains its insulating properties and dimensional stability.

Abstract: An arrangement includes an electric cable having a first electric conductor and a contact device having a crimp barrel and a contact element mechanically and electrically connected to the crimp barrel. The crimp barrel extends along an axis and has a first inner circumferential side and a first outer circumferential side. A first impress and a second impress are stamped into a first sub-portion of the crimp barrel, the second impress is offset circumferentially from the first impress with respect to the axis. The first inner circumferential side is shaped by the first impress and the second impress in such a manner that the first inner circumferential side is pressed against a second outer circumferential side of the first electric conductor and electrically contacts the second outer circumferential side, with the first inner circumferential side fitting against the second outer circumferential side.

Abstract: A high-current contact device includes a contact element and a cooling device. The cooling device has a coolant container thermally connected to the contact element, an absorber container arranged at a distance from the coolant container and the contact element, a fluid line extending between the coolant container and the absorber container, and a valve arranged in the fluid line. The coolant container has a coolant and the absorber container has an absorber material. The coolant container is fluidly connected to the absorber container in a valve open position and is fluidly separated from the absorber container in a valve closed position. The coolant changes to a gaseous phase in the coolant container to cool the contact element. The fluid line conveys the coolant in the gaseous phase from the coolant container to the absorber container, and the absorber material absorbs the coolant in the gaseous phase.

Abstract: A method for crimp mounting a high-frequency (HF) electrical crimp connecting device to an electrical cable includes the steps of crimping a ferrule into a mounting state wherein its maximum diameter is fixed, and arranging the ferrule in its mounting state over an exposed shielding conductor of the cable. A terminal is crimped onto an inner conductor of the cable, and a shielding contact sleeve is placed over the cable and crimped, at least in the area of the ferrule. A target impedance or impedance range of the resulting cable is set according to at least one of a dimension of at least one crimping tool used to perform the crimping steps, or at least one dimension of at least one of the resulting crimps performed by the at least one crimping tool.
