    Abstract: A small drill includes one chip-discharging flute which is helically formed in the exterior surface of a cutting portion of the small drill. The small drill also includes a flute-shaped portion which is formed in the front region of the chip-discharging flute in the rotating direction, which is connected to the chip-discharging flute, and which is open at the exterior surface of the cutting portion. The core diameter ratio d/D, in percent, of the small drill is set to 60% or more, and a margin angle null thereof is set to 120null or more.

    Abstract: Drill bit of the twist drill type with turns which are held together by a drill center web and each issue in a radially extending cutting edge of which one extends to the bit axis and the other is shorter than it. This is characterized by the following features:a) the cutting edges (2,3) formed by continuos straight edges lie essentially in a plane coinciding with the bit axis (9),b) the cutting edges (2,3) form an obtuse angle (cutting angle), lying below 180.degree., of at least 175.degree.,c) the cutting edges (2,3;16) having a leading edge angle (K) of about 30.degree. with a rake angle (S.sub.1, S.sub.15) of about 30.degree. to 45.degree.,d) the diameter (D) of the drill center web (6) is at most half the bit diameter.

    Abstract: A cutter plate is provided for precision working, especially of holes, which is constructed as a symmetrical polygon with at least four corners and has at least one main cutting edge and one auxiliary cutting edge, as well as a projection which begins at the chip run-off surface of the cutting edges, whose sides serve as chip-guiding steps and whose boundary lines circumscribe a symmetrical polygon, whose shape corresponds to that of the cutter plate, and has smaller dimensions than the latter, so that, starting from the corner regions of the polygon, the width of the chip run-off surfaces decreases. The cutter plate is distinguished by the fact that each chip run-off surface has a plane shape and is inclined in the direction of its longitudinal extension by an angle in such a way that the narrowest region is at the greatest height and is arranged to be above the neighboring chip run-off surface, so that it can be manufactured very simply and economically by a grinding procedure. In this way, a very high accuracy of dimensions can be achieved. With this cutter plate, an optimum flow of chips and hence a superior surface quality, can be achieved. The shape of the cutter plate is so simple that several different cutter plates can be manufactured easily at favorable cost for various application purposes.

    Abstract: A drill in which no positional shift on a drilled hole and no irregularities on an internal wall are formed. A torsion angle of a shaving discharge groove of a drill is set in the range of 30 degrees to 50 degrees. In this manner, a positional shift of a through hole to be drilled can be reduced. In addition, shavings of the drill are properly discharged, and thus, drilling is not precluded by the shavings. Therefore, a printed wiring board having excellent electric connectivity and reliability can be obtained.
