An arbor or mandrel comprises means for applying an eccentric force to a tool or workpiece if it is not running true. A hob 15 is secured by a nut 17 and a collar 16 to an arbor 11 clamped between centres by a draw-bar 14. Due to clearances and lack of complete contact between the faces of the nut and hob, a force may be applied to the tool which causes the arbor to be slightly bowed. The bow is corrected by the rotation of adjusting screws passing axially through the nut. The hob may be clamped solely by the screws. In a modification, the screws 21, Fig. 3, are carried by a collar 22 which is secured by a nut 24 and a spacing sleeve 23. In a further modification, screws 31, Fig. 4, are provided in the collar 30 also. In a further modification, only one screw is provided. In a final modification, the screws are replaced by wedges or keys.

摘要: A tool changer is used for changing tools in a machine tool. The tool changer has a support structure on which a lifting carriage is guided along a vertical lifting direction. A pivot arm is pivotably mounted to the lifting carriage about a vertical pivot axis. A plurality of tool holders arranged vertically one above the other form a tool magazine. A tool gripper is attached to the pivot arm. The tool gripper grips a tool. The tool is subsequently moved between one of the tool holders and the tool spindle of the machine tool by a combined lifting and pivoting movement of the pivot arm. Optionally, an auxiliary arm pivotably attached to the pivot arm can be used to change a workpiece clamping means of the machine tool.

摘要: A skiving cutter includes a cutting edge portion in which a tooth trace extends in a direction inclined with respect to an axis of a base. The cutting edge portion is segmented into a plurality of segmented cutting edges by cutting edge grooves extending in a direction intersecting the tooth trace. One of the plurality of segmented cutting edges forms a reference cutting edge. Among the plurality of segmented cutting edges constituting the cutting edge portion, the reference cutting edge has the largest axis-cutting edge distance which is a distance from the axis to the outer circumferential cutting edge of the segmented cutting edge, and the remaining one or more segmented cutting edges have gradually smaller axis-cutting edge distances as a distance from the reference cutting edge to each of the remaining cutting edges increases. A helix angle is different according to positions of the plurality of segmented cutting edges.

摘要: A front-loading rotary ring cutter for face milling or face hobbing processes wherein the cutter ring is secured to the cutter head by means which eliminate the need to remove the entire cutter assembly from the spindle of a machine tool when changing cutter rings. Preferably the cutter ring includes a radially inward extending base portion through which mounting screws may pass to engage the cutter head for securing the cutter ring to the cutter head. The cutter assembly may also include an adapter plate for attaching the rotary cutter to a machine spindle.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a rotary cutter for cutting gears, couplings and the like. The rotary cutter comprises a cutter head having an axis of rotation, a centering disc located adjacent to a side of the cutter head and concentric with the axis and a cutter ring, centered by the centering disc, on the cutter head. The centering disc has a tapered outer edge surface that abuts against and is complementary with the tapered surface of the bore of the cutter ring. The cutter ring is centered once the surfaces are complementary. Once centered, the cutter ring is secured to the cutter head. The rotary cutter of the present invention enables the cutter ring to rotate true about the axis of a machine tool.

Respective cutter blades of the cutters are located in the same phase and each tooth profile thereof is designed such that the contacting point between each cutter blade of the cutters and each gear tooth of an internal spur gear to be obtained is located within a contacting or acting rejion therebetween. The device is further provided with spiral key ways respectively formed in the cutters and pin keys set up on the spindle and engaged with the key ways, respectively.
