    摘要: A print head wherein a magnetic member is attracted by a permanent magnet to bend a resilient member to thereby store energy in the resilient member. A magnetic force of the permanent magnet is adapted to be cancelled by an excitation of an electromagnet to release the magnetic member thereby enabling the utilization of the energy stored in the resilient member as an impact force for printing. A rear end portion of the resilient member is pressed in a direction opposite to a direction in which the impact force is applied by a pressing member and is adapted to pivot with a certain degree of freedom. The pivoting fulcrum for the magnetic member is defined on a magnetic pole surface of the permanent magnet. At least one of the contact portions of the pressing member or the resilient member is provided with a curved surface in an engagement area of the pressing member and resilient member, and a distance between the contact point and the pivoting fulcrum is variable in accordance with the pivoting movement of the magnetic member so that it is possible to provide a control whereby the impact force is constant.

    摘要: The high speed print pin actuator disclosed herein is constructed as two sub-assemblies, a U-shaped fixed magnet structure and an armature sub-assembly. One leg of the U-shaped structure constitutes a coil core and the other includes a permanent magnet and a keeper plate, the ends of the keeper and the core being finished to a common plane. The armature assembly includes a flux return bridge structure which extends from the keeper to a region adjacent the end of the coil core and which is bifurcated to receive an armature which is selectively attracted to the coil core. The armature is carried on a spring which is, in turn, mounted on the bridge structure. With the spring in a deflected position, the armature is finished to a common surface with the portion of the bridge which mates with the magnet structure. Accordingly, assembly of the armature sub-assembly with the U-shaped fixed magnet structure is facilitated and accurate parallelism of the armature and pole piece is provided. Preferably, a thin shim of a wear resistant material is interposed between the spring and the bifurcated portion of the bridge structure.

A leaf spring supports the armature and is fixed to the yoke, and a print needle is mounted perpendicular to the elongated armature.

    摘要: A wire matrix printer includes a print head having one or more banks of a plurality of generally horizontal, vertically spaced print wires arranged parallel to each other for linear reciprocation toward and away from a recording surface by associated actuators. The print wires in each bank are of progressively varying length so that the wire associated with the actuator furthest from the recording surface is the longest and each adjacent wire is a predetermined amount shorter than the preceding wire. Outer or actuator ends of the wires define a vertically spaced and stepped array. The actuators in each bank are also in an array vertically spaced and stepped and are respectively coupled to the outer print wire ends by armatures. The inner or printing ends of the wires define a vertically spaced, nearly planar array near the recording surface, and a spaced, planar array at such surface. If there is more than one bank of print wires, the banks are angularly spaced from a line extending perpendicularly from the recording surface, and the inner ends of the wires in each bank are alternately interleaved near the recording surface.The actuators in each bank include the armatures, as well as torsion springs, a pair of pole pieces, a permanent magnet and an electrical coil. The armatures are mounted to the pole pieces by both the torsion member and the magnetic attraction of the permanent magnet for generally horizontal, pivoting movement. The pole pieces are magnetized by the permanent magnet to normally attract and hold each armature adjacent thereto against the action of its associated torsion spring thereby storing potential energy therein. The flux of the permanent magnet is selectively counteracted, or neutralized or cancelled for a selected armature by energization of its associated coil to rotate the armature on and about one of its pole pieces for impacting the inner end of the print wire coupled thereto against the recording surface due to conversion of the potential energy stored in the torsion spring to kinetic energy of the armature.Further details relate to the positioning and geometry of the print wires, the armatures, the pole pieces, the permanent magnets, and the coils in certain environments, such as in print heads of a wire matrix printers.
