    摘要: Disclosed is a vehicle lamp. Three lamp units are arranged such that an optical axis of each lamp unit is oriented in a longitudinal direction of a vehicle body. A base of a front lamp unit is fixed to the vehicle body, and bases of a middle lamp unit and a rear lamp unit are provided to be movable in a widthwise direction of the vehicle body. A housing of each of the middle and rear lamp units is suspended on an output shaft of an actuator by an arm. The actuator pivots the output shaft around a horizontal axis and swings the arm around an axis in which is parallel with the optical axes of the middle and rear lamp units.

Inner collimating light guide (18) receives light from a yellow LED (16), outer collimating light guide (30) receives light from red LEDs (14), the yellow and red LEDs located in thermal communication with a common heat sink (2). Mirror optics (40, 42) reflect light from respective light output prisms (28, 35) of the inner and outer light guides outward to nested reflectors on the automobile. Electrical conductors (48) between the light guides (18, 30) can feed power from a PC board (12) to supply additional light sources within an RCL housing, such as white back-up light.

The vehicle lighting unit can include a headlamp (HL) unit having a HL light guiding lens and a DRL unit. The HL light guiding lens can include a light incident surface in front of a light source LED for HL, a front reflection surface, a rear reflection surface, and a light-transmitting section. The front reflection surface can internally reflect light from the light incident surface obliquely rearward and downward. The rear reflection surface can internally reflect the light from the front reflection surface. The light-transmitting section is disposed between the front and rear reflection surfaces in terms of its vertical direction. The DRL unit can be disposed behind the light-transmitting section, so that light from the DRL unit can pass through the light-transmitting section and projected forward.

    摘要: Various techniques are described herein for combining two or more LEDs in a single reflective cavity for a rear lamp in an automobile. The LEDs may be two or more different colors for performing different functions, such as a stop light, a turn signal, and a tail light. In one embodiment, the LEDs have side emitting lenses and are coaxially aligned in a parabolic reflector. The LEDs may be mounted facing each other or mounted in the same direction, or a combination of both. The LEDs may share a common heat sink. A second reflector may be positioned inside a larger reflector, where a first LED is mounted near the focal point of the larger reflector, and a second LED is mounted near the focal point of the inner reflector. Additional LEDs may also be mounted in either reflector and separately controlled.
