Abstract:
In a sheet transport apparatus in which a skew feed correcting portion is provided so as to be able to pull out from the apparatus, the skew feed correcting portion including a sheet transport path through which a sheet is transported, and a skew feed correcting device for correcting skew feed of the sheet passing through the sheet transport path, a guide constituting an upper surface of the sheet transport path is divided into two guide members in a width direction orthogonal to a sheet transport direction so that the two guide members can each be opened.
Abstract:
A device for manufacturing a crosslaid fiber web including a first conveyor belt and a second conveyor belt, which are oriented in two different directions, wherein the second conveyor belt adjoins a side of the first conveyor belt. During operation of the device, the first conveyor belt transports longitudinal fiber web segments, which are conveyed to the second conveyor belt in a conveyance region. During transportation by the first conveyor belt, a conveyance area of the longitudinal fiber web segments projects with respect to the side of the first conveyor belt. The device comprises a guiding belt for supporting a portion of this conveyance area, in order to guarantee that, in the conveyance region, the longitudinal fiber web segments may be conveyed to the second conveyor belt in a completely outstretched fashion.
Abstract:
An image reader includes: a conveyance path forming member; a conveying unit; a reading unit; and a pressing unit. The conveyance path forming member forms a part of a conveyance path extending from a conveyance start position to a discharge position via an image reading position. The conveying unit is capable of conveying documents having different widths along the conveyance path. The reading unit reads the document at the reading position. The pressing unit extends in the document width direction, is disposed as opposed to the reading unit, and holds the document conveyed by the conveying unit in cooperation with the conveyance path forming member by pressing the document against the conveyance path forming member. The pressing unit is divided into a plurality of pressing members that are arranged in the document width direction and that press the documents against the conveyance path forming member independently from one another.
Abstract:
A feed plate for sequentially supplying paper sheets to a printing press is provided with an upwardly inclined air passage and an air suction passage obliquely intersecting the upwardly inclined air passage at an intermediate point thereof. A guide plate is provided to extend through the upwardly inclined air passage to confront inner opening of the air suction passage.
Abstract:
Apparatus for feeding sheets includes a feed table onto which the sheets are supplied. The front edges of the sheet are engaged by stops, and suction openings in the feed table precede the stops. Suction conduit means which underlie the feed table in alignment with the suction opeings are operable between raised and lowered positions in sychronism with the operation of the apparatus whereby the underpressure applied to a sheet through the suction openings and suction conduit to hold down the sheet on the feed table is varied in synchronism with the operation of the apparatus as the feed conduit means is raised and lowered.
Abstract:
An image recording apparatus for recording an image on a sheet includes a recording section which records the image on the sheet in a transport passage for transporting the sheet in a transport direction and multiple plates which are spaced apart from each other in a widthwise direction. These multiple plates include a first type of plate and a second type of plate. Plates of a first type of plate are configured to overlap a sheet when viewed in a direction perpendicular to the transport direction and the widthwise direction, while plates of the second type of plate do not.
Abstract:
A medium feeder includes a medium mounter, a pair of edge guides, and a sheet number limiter. The medium mounter has a mounting surface on which a medium to be fed is placed. The pair of edge guides is provided at the medium mounter to guide side edges of the medium in a direction that intersects with a feeding direction in which the medium is fed. The sheet number limiter is provided at the pair of edge guides to limit the number of media mountable on the medium mounter. The sheet number limiter has an extension that extends in a feeding direction of the medium such that a distance between the extension and the mounting surface increases downstream.
Abstract:
A sheet conveyer, having a sheet supporting plate, a feed roller, a lifting device to move the sheet supporting plate between a separated position and a contacting position, a motor, a sheet guide disposed on the sheet supporting plate to extend orthogonally to an axial direction of a rotation shaft of the feed roller to be movable in the axial direction on the sheet supporting plate, and a contact member disposed in an upper position with respect to the sheet guide, is provided. The sheet guide includes a retractable member movable between a first position, in which the retractable member is located when the sheet supporting plate is in the separated position, and a second position, in which the retractable member is placed by a reaction force from the contact member produced by contact between the sheet supporting plate and the feed roller.
