    摘要: The method includes providing, arranging, and mounting a line or series of studs, between parallel fixed structures of building so that each stud when as formed and mounted has a more resilient flange and a less resilient flange and so that the more resilient flanges of any two adjacent studs face in opposite directions; EQUALLY THE LESS RESILIENT FLANGES OF TWO ADJACENT STUDS ALSO FACE IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS. The method further includes the step of providing, arranging and mounting wall panels in staggered, alternated relation on the studs with the edges of two adjacent panels being secured to the less resilient flange of the same stud, and the center of each panel is adjacent the more resilient flange of a stud between the first named pair of studs. The studs may have less resilient and more resilient flanges as originally formed, and/or only one flange may be anchored to the channels to make that flange less resilient than the unanchored flange. In the mounting of the panels, the center of each panel has a bearing at a more resilient flange.

    摘要: A structural element (1, 20, 30, 40) comprises a web (2) extending between a pair of flanges (3, 4). The areas of particular structural importance are the portions (5, 6) of the web and flanges adjacent to the junction between the web and the flanges. Material is gathered into these structurally important areas of an otherwise thin component. This is achieved by providing a plurality of small ribs (10) to absorb the material in these structurally important areas (5, 6). The ribs (10) are on a pitch of 2 to 8 times the wall thickness t. The pitch is approximately the same as a typical self drilling, self tapping fastener to prevent skating of the fastener, on fixing. The ribs (10) are of a depth of between 1.5 t and 3.0 t, where t is the metal thickness. These parameters ensure that in terms of fixing, the ribs allow a fastening screw to be used and to perform in the same manner as with a flat faced flange or web.

    摘要: A foam wall panel system with a unique Z-shaped wall panel connection device. The Z-shape of the wall panel connection device provides cavities on each side which accept the angled edges of foam wall panels that fit within the cavities. Adjacent foam cores having angled edges are secured into the cavities on opposite sides of Z-shaped wall panel connection devices to form a continuous foam wall. The Z-shaped wall panel connection device can be fabricated from a single sheet of material, or other suitable materials, and can replace metal wall studs. The folded corner edges of the Z-shaped wall panel connection device, and the edges of the foam cores, are rounded to avoid damage to the foam wall panel during the installation process.

    摘要: A method of construction of partitions (1) including the steps of erecting a structural steel frame from spaced apart frame members (2, 3), the frame members having boxed mounting flanges (4, 6) and being formed from a metal having a relatively high tensile strength, applying at least one layer of sheet material (11) to at least one side of the frame, and securing the layer of sheet material (11) to the frame by means of self-piercing impact fasteners (12). In one preferred form, staples (51) are used to secure cladding sheets (52) to boxed flange frame members for various dry wall constructions. In another preferred embodiment, staples (51) or nails (12) are similarly used to secure layers of sheet material (11, 52) to opposing sides of the frame to define an intermediate cavity which is subsequently filled with cementitious material to form a solid partition.
