    摘要: A multi-position mounting system is provided for securing a wall panel or hanging to a vertical wall, the wall panel or hanging having a front surface facing away from the wall, a back surface opposite the front, and one or more side surfaces connecting the front and back surfaces. In one embodiment, the multi-position mounting system includes a notch disposed in the back surface of the wall panel, the notch having at least three edges, each edge defining a separate sidewall surface. The notch is configured to secure to a bracket affixed to the vertical wall, the bracket configured to separately mate with each sidewall surface of the notch, wherein mating the bracket with an adjacent sidewall surface of the notch slightly rotates the wall panel with respect to the vertical wall.

    摘要: A foam wall panel system with a unique Z-shaped wall panel connection device. The Z-shape of the wall panel connection device provides cavities on each side which accept the angled edges of foam wall panels that fit within the cavities. Adjacent foam cores having angled edges are secured into the cavities on opposite sides of Z-shaped wall panel connection devices to form a continuous foam wall. The Z-shaped wall panel connection device can be fabricated from a single sheet of material, or other suitable materials, and can replace metal wall studs. The folded corner edges of the Z-shaped wall panel connection device, and the edges of the foam cores, are rounded to avoid damage to the foam wall panel during the installation process.

    摘要: A resiliently flexible construction beam includes a pair of lateral flange portions and a web extending therebetween, preferably, but not necessarily, so as to present a cross-sectional profile corresponding to commonly used construction beam members (e.g., 2″×4″ or 2″×6″). The resilience of the beam helps to attenuate sound transmission through the beam from one lateral member to the other. In particular, in a wall frame, beams according to the present invention are mounted at opposite ends thereof to end plates. In one example, the end plates include slits into which the webs of the beams can be received. The resilient web according to the present invention is conveniently made from a unitary piece of material such as, for example, steel.

    摘要: A foam wall panel system with a unique Z-shaped wall stud. The Z-shape of the wall stud provides cavities on each side which accept the angled edges of foam wall panels that fit within the cavities. Adjacent foam wall panels having angled edges are secured into the cavities on opposite sides of Z-shaped wall stud to form a continuous foam wall. The Z-shaped wall stud can be fabricated from a single sheet of metal, or other suitable materials capable of replacing metal wall studs. The folded corner edges of the Z-shaped wall stud, and the edges of the foam panels, are rounded to avoid damage to the foam wall panel during the installation process. An alternative embodiment provides angled gripping edges on the Z-shaped wall stud that secures the foam panels to the Z-shaped wall stud.

    摘要: A metal stud for constructing a fire-rated wall and the wall structure formed of a plurality of studs mounted in runners and having at least a pair of spaced-apart layers of wallboard panels with adjacent panels in abutting relationship, the stud being formed of an integral piece of sheet metal and comprising a single layer web having a first plurality of oppositely directed flange means at one edge thereof and a second pair of oppositely directed flange means connected to the web means at the other end thereof and spaced-apart from the first pair of flange means a sufficient distance to provide a pair of oppositely directed channels receiving the edges of adjacent panels of a single layer, and means extending away from the second pair of oppositely directed flange means and being connected to and supporting a panel spaced apart from the first and second pairs of flange means and adapted to have the wallboard panels of a second layer affixed thereto in parallel spaced-apart relationship with regard to the first layer of wallboard panels. In an improved embodiment a plurality of apertures are provided in the web to reduce heat transfer therethrough and facilitate heat dissipation from the wallboard panels, thereby permitting the wall structure to obtain a favorable ASTM fire rating.
