    摘要: Wire-hook connectors with a series of individual wire hooks that are not connected to one another, are arranged spaced apart by pair and parallel to one another, and are held only on strip-like carrier material, which is a film, fabric or shaped plastic part, in corresponding openings. The wire hooks are fabricated of, for example, round or flat steel wire, each of which has two hook legs that are unequal in length and that run at an angle to one another on either side of the buckling area formed thereby. The hook legs have hook tips at ends thereof that are bent towards one another, whereby a wire hook is arranged centrally between a mutually adjacent pair of mutually parallel wire hooks, with mirror symmetry with respect to the plane formed by the angle bisectors thereof.

    摘要: A system for splicing a conveyor belt with belt fasteners is disclosed. A base assembly aligns the belt, belt fasteners and rivet holes thereof with swage structures for securing the rivets. A guide assembly has a rigid guide block with cylindrical pilot holes, and a guide membrane of resilient material. Guide pins are receivable by guide bores for aligning the base and guide assemblies with the pilot holes, rivet holes, and swage structures in registry. The guide membrane including openings aligned with the pilot holes. The openings have a pair of slits defining flaps deflectable to permit the rivet to pass therethrough, and a central hole or cut-out. The flaps and the cut-out assist in centering the rivet with the belt fastener rivet holes. The system uses a single-rivet driver, a multi-rivet driver, a pneumatic driver, or an electric hammer.

    摘要: In a belt splicer, having crossbeams straddling over and under the splice area, and having tie-bolts holding the ends of the crossbeams together, the safety system comprises link-spacers which link the crossbeams together. The link-spacers are profiled complementarily to the crossbeams, whereby the link-spacers can slide relative to the crossbeams. If a tie-bolt should fail, the cross-beams are held in place, relative to the other crossbeams, by the link-spacers.

    摘要: A fastener for splicing ends of conveyor belts together is provided having a rivet that is pre-inserted thereto to provide speed and ease in installation. The rivet is held in an aperture of the upper plate by an interference fit at the lower end thereof. Preferably, the interference fit is achieved by knurling of the lower end portion of the rivet shaft to create raised interference portions or ridges integral therewith that are sized to be in an interference fit in the upper plate aperture. The remainder of the shaft can be sized to provide clearance between it and the aperture. An applicator machine tool is also provided for automatically securing a strip of the pre-inserted rivet fasteners to a belt end in a fast and efficient manner. The tool uses operating members to first drive pilot nails through the belt lower surface into registry with the rivets, and thereafter the rivets are driven coordinated with the pilot nails that are withdrawn back through the belt. The pilot nails stop at a predetermined position and the rivets continue to be driven for forming the upset heads at the bottom of the rivet.

    摘要: The apparatus of the present invention includes a tube having locking apparatus at one end that is inserted into a hinge joint in a first direction. A lead wire is inserted into the tube in the opposite direction and locked in place within the tube. Then the tube is withdrawn from the joint with the lead wire still attached. The apparatus also includes a web shaped bib member having at least one opening therein for gripping by a human hand to assist in positioning the belt. The method of the invention has application to a method of securing the first end of a conveyor belt with respect to the second end of the conveyor belt wherein the first end and second end each include part of a hinged joint that includes a plurality of cylindrical section shaped members. This method includes the steps of (1) attaching a web shaped bib, having openings for gripping by an installer, to the cylindrical section shaped members attached to the first end and (2) manipulating the first end relative to the second end by gripping the web shaped body. The method includes the step of thereafter removing the web shaped bib. Other forms of the method in accordance with the invention include substantially aligning the cylindrical section shaped members connected to the first end and the cylindrical section shaped members connected to the second end, inserting in a first direction, a first end of a rigid hollow tube into the cylindrical section shaped members connected to both the first end and the second end, inserting in a second direction, opposite to the first direction, a first axial extremity of a lead wire having the other end thereof connected to an axial extremity of an aircraft cable, into the second end of the rigid hollow tube, clamping the first axial extremity of the lead wire at the second end of the rigid hollow tube, and withdrawing the rigid hollow tube from the cylindrical section shaped parts of the first and second ends.

    摘要: An endless belt particularly adapted for use in high speed power transmission, commonly termed a fan belt, which is particularly adapted to be readily formed on site to any desired length and methods and apparatus for forming the belt. The belt construction includes an outer length of flexible tear-resistant material having abutting ends so as to form a closed loop and defining an endless channel extending longitudinally therethrough. An inelastic ribbon of flexible tear-resistant material is disposed within the channel and extends about the loop defined by the outer length of material such that the ribbon extends across the abutting ends of the outer length of material and the ends of the reinforcing ribbon are in an abutting relationship within the channel at a location substantially diametrically opposed across the formed loop from the abutting ends of the outer length of material. An adhesive is disposed within the channel about the reinforcing ribbon securing the ribbon to the outer length of material so as to maintain the outer length of material in a closed loop configuration of predetermined size.
