摘要: A Cooperative Service Valve includes a fitting connected to a valve body via a tube, a stem configured to fit within the valve body. The stem includes a stem first end having a first seal and configured to movably fit within a tube first end, a sealing portion connected to the stem first end and configured, in a first position, to provide a second seal between the sealing portion and an inner surface of the stem body, a fluid flow portion comprising openings for allowing liquid or gaseous media to pass through the Cooperative Service Valve when the stem is in a second position and a stem second end configured to secure a poppet guide, a poppet and a spring associated with the poppet that biases the poppet against a seal to yield a third seal. The first, second and third seals open and close in a particular order to allow or prevent fluid from flowing through the stem.

Attaching the adaptor to the pipe end prior to the pipe being pulled underground is faster and reduces danger to workers compared to the conventional process of attaching the adaptor to the end of the pipe after the pipe has been pulled underground.

摘要: Methods and systems for distributing an inert gas to an aircraft fuel tank are provided herein. The method includes channeling the inert gas in a first direction via a first distribution line and channeling the inert gas in an opposite second direction via a second distribution line. The second distribution line is concentrically aligned with and circumscribes the first distribution line. The second distribution line includes a termination point within the aircraft fuel tank. The second distribution line defines a plurality of distribution orifices that release of the inert gas into an ullage space of the fuel tank.

摘要: A valve assembly is provided with concentric fluid paths and may be used on a hydrogen generator to transport liquid reactant to the hydrogen generator and hydrogen gas. The valve assembly includes a housing defining first and second fluid paths, a first valve member disposed in the first fluid path, and a second valve member disposed in the second fluid path. The assembly includes a connector including a first elongated member configured to engage the first valve member to open the first valve member to allow a first fluid to flow through the first fluid path, and a second fluid port including a second elongated member configured to allow fluid to flow through the second fluid path. The valve assembly is concentric in that the second fluid path surrounds at least a portion of the first fluid path.

摘要: Apparatus and method for electrically heating a segment of a subsea pipeline are provided. Electrical power may be supplied about midpoint between the ends of concentric pipes. The annulus between the pipes electrically isolates the pipes, but at the ends of the segment the concentric pipes are electrically connected. The pipes may be electrically connected by bulkheads or by an insulating joint. A toroidal transformer may be placed in the annulus for extracting power at a selected location along the pipeline. An insulating joint allows power to be extracted from the ends of the heated segment. Extracted power may be used for pumps, other devices or for heating jumpers or other short segments of the pipeline. Contiguous segments of a pipeline may be heated, each segment having an electrical connection to the inner and the outer pipe intermediate the ends of the segment. A riser or segment of a riser having a pipe-in-pipe configuration may also be heated.

摘要: A replacement pipe is installed within an existing service pipe (1) by first advancing a sealing means (6,8) along the existing pipe to a position adjacent its junction with a main pipe (2), then deploying the sealing means to seal against the inner surface of the existing pipe) in the example shown, by pumping sealant (10) into the space between the seal body (6) and the pipe (1), and subsequently advancing the replacement pipe along the existing pipe. The space between the two pipes is then filled with sealant and finally the sealing means is opened, in the example shown by withdrawing a guide rod (5) and its collar (7) on which the sealing means was advanced into position.
