    摘要: An improved method and apparatus for controlling the display of a plan position indicator radar display are disclosed which result in the elimination of both display flicker and the loss of critical real-time radar return data. The system is clocked by a series of fixed pulses related to the length of the radar beam on the display. Creation of the radar beam is given top system priority. Thereafter, the number of clock pulses allocated for radar beam creation is diminished as necessary to provide time for the display of prestored synthetic display data. The time is taken from a portion of each beam which has been preselected as least critical. Additionally, the beam length based clock pulses are employed to compensate for sweep overlap and in such functions as offset, range scale, and sweep off-scale.

    摘要: A radar return signal is analyzed by amplitude comparators so as to classify the radar return signal with respect to 2.sup.n -1 threshold levels to thus produce n parallel bits for each classification defining the instantaneous amplitude of the radar return signal. The bits in a given significant bit position (most significant, least significant, etc.) comprise a word which moves through the video storage device serially with respect to bits in the same significant bit position and in parallel with respect to bits in the word comprised of different significance bits. Input buffers in the form of n storage registers are provided, each storage register being associated with a particular bit significance. The bits are entered into their associated storage register at a rate dependent upon the desired radar range. The bits are optionally integrated on a bit-by-bit basis and then entered into a main memory having n circulating storage registers arranged in parallel. The information stored in the main memory is subsequently recalled and conveyed through output buffers for display on a cathode ray tube. The output buffers are comprised of n further storage registers. Each of these further storage registers is associated with a particular circulating storage register. The bits from a circulating storage register are conveyed to its associated further storage register. The bits in the output buffers are subsequently passed into a digital to analog converter, the output of the converter being applied to the cathode ray tube for display.

    摘要: A real-time radar surveillance system comprises at least one land-based non-coherent radar sensor apparatus adapted for detecting maneuvering targets and targets of small or low radar cross-section. The radar sensor apparatus includes a marine radar device, a digitizer connected to the marine radar device for receiving therefrom samples of radar video echo signals, and computer programmed to implement a software-configurable radar processor generating target data including detection data and track data, the computer being connectable to a computer network including a database. The processor is figured to transmit at least a portion of the target data over the network to the database, the database being accessible via the network by at least one user application that receives target data from the database, the user application providing a user interface for at least one user of the system.

    摘要: A non-contact type wave signal observation apparatus measures transfer functions of a distributed constant network. A signal is input from a network analyzer to the network to be measured. Electromagnetic waves radiated from the network are received at each observation point on an observation plane arranged in a manner facing the network. The received signals are input to the network analyzer. The transfer functions between an input terminal of the network and each observation point are measured by the network analyzer. The measured transfer functions are converted by an inverse-Fresnel transformer and are stored in memories. The stored data is specified by a control unit and is displayed on a display unit. The stored data can be converted by an inverse-Fourier transformer and is displayed on the display unit as waveforms. Further aspect of the apparatus is, by a non-contact method, to measure signals of a distributed constant network, to determine states of electromagnetic wave in the space, to decrease the amount of calculations in a hologram reconstruction process, and to display a complex three dimensional illustration for a holographic radar.

    摘要: A system for time-compressing radar video is disclosed to improve the grac presentation thereof on a CRT display. Quantized input video is pipelined as cell pairs into and out of a pair of parallelly-arranged memory banks by means of input and output latches. The memory banks are controlled having alternating read and write modes which are interchanged in synchronism with the video scan period so that a preceding scan is read out of one bank at a controlled read clock frequency while a current scan is written into the other bank at a fixed write clock frequency, the degree of video compression being determined by the ratio of the read-to-write frequencies. A pair of series-connected rate multipliers each are fed 6-bit rate words for varying the read clock frequency on either a linear or non-linear scale. Video integration is provided at the inputs of each memory bank by magnitude comparators which compare stored contents of each range cell in the banks with current input video for the respective cell and steer multiplexers to either retain or rewrite the contents of the cell.
