Abstract:
A universal remote controller includes a card and a housing. The card includes an information tag. The housing includes a touch panel, a slot, a reader, a memory, a processor, and a signal transmitter. The memory is used for storing a plurality of databases. When the card is inserted to the slot, the reader in the housing induces the driving signal corresponding to the information tag of the card. The processor enables a corresponding database from the memory according to the driving signal and further provides a plurality of remote control functions on the transparent touch panel corresponding to positions of a plurality of key images according to the enabled database.
Abstract:
A universal remote control system and method for employing a centralized database for programming the universal remote control (URC) to control the operation of appliance(s). The appliance(s) may or may not be made by different manufactures. The centralized database is accessible via the Internet and includes many different appliances made by many different manufacturers. The user may access a web site of the centralized database and manually enter electronic appliances identifying data that the URC is desired to operate, then the centralized database sends the appropriate command code data to the URC either directly or temporarily downloads them into a computer to be later loaded into the URC. The centralized database includes command codes for appliances such as TV sets, DVDs, CD systems, alarm clocks, and VCRs, music synthesizers, toys, stereo systems, ovens, washing machines, timers, power strips, and the like.
Abstract:
A remote controller (100) and a system and method for remotely controlling a digital TV are disclosed. A memory card (110) is mounted in the remote controller (100), and the remote controller (100) receives video or audio data inputted from the memory card (110) and transmits the received data to a TV body (300). The remote controller (100) receives the video or audio data from the memory card (110) modulates the received data into a wireless signal and transmits the modulated wireless signal, and the TV body (300) receives the wireless signal transmitted from the remote controller (100), demodulates the received wireless signal into the video or audio data and reproduces the demodulated video or audio data. Therefore, the user can remotely control the TV body (300) without personally inserting the memory card (110) into the TV body (300). As a result, the user does not need to move to a place where the TV body (300) is located resulting in convenience in use.
Abstract:
An apparatus for providing a card application toolkit command for reporting terminal environmental information may include at least one processor and at least one memory storing computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus or another apparatus to perform at least providing a command associated with a card application toolkit, from a user identity module of a mobile terminal, to direct the mobile terminal to provide environmental condition information to the user identity module, receiving the environmental condition information via a response to the command, and performing a function with respect to the environmental condition information.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for a remote control device. Means for detecting orientation of the remote control device couples to a processor. The processor changes a mode of operation of the remote control device in response to a change in the orientation.
Abstract:
Actuating a security system includes providing a first set of access codes to a wireless device and causing the wireless device to transmit the first set of access codes to a first controller that actuates the security system. The first set of access codes provided to the wireless device may expire. Actuating a security system may also include providing expiration dates for each of the first set of access codes provided to the wireless device. Actuating a security system may also include examining each of the expiration dates and, in response to a particular expiration date being prior to a current date, erasing from the wireless device a particular one of the first set of access codes that corresponds to the particular expiration date.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to intuitive based control elements and interfaces and devices using said intuitive based control elements. In certain embodiments, machine interfaces such as remote control devices for operation of various devices are provided. More specifically, machine interfaces according to embodiments of the invention herein include one or more control elements in the form of shapes and/or positioned indicia to facilitate operation by users. Control elements provided herein having intuitive shapes and/or positions described above as associated with the man-machine interfaces may also be provided integral with various devices. For example, personal electronic devices, personal care devices, personal healthcare devices, communications devices and personal comfort devices may benefit from control elements having intuitive shapes and/or positions associated with the function as described herein. In one aspect herein, a telephonic device is provided including a control interface. The control interface for the telephonic device includes at least one control element in the form of, or positioned in a configuration on the control device corresponding to, a part of a face. The control element performs a function of the device associated with the part of the face. In certain embodiments, the at least one control element is in the shape of, position of, or both in the shape of and position of a mouth, wherein upon activation of the control element, the telephonic device answers an incoming telephone call or places an outgoing telephone call. In additional embodiments, the at least one control element is in the shape of, position of, or both in the shape of and position of an eye, wherein upon activation of the control element, the telephonic device displays one or more stored numbers (e.g., wherein the user then activates the call, for instance, by activating a control element in the shape of, position of, or both shape of and position of a mouth). In additional embodiments, the at least one control element is in the shape of, position of, or both in the shape of and position of an ear, wherein upon activation of the control element, the telephonic device adjusts a control associated with the volume of the telephonic device (e.g., volume level, muting on/off).
Abstract:
The customizable remote control for control of interactive multimedia devices, especially a set-top box (15), has a first hardware device, especially a fingerprint reader (15), by means of which authorized persons can be unambiguously identified. Moreover, the remote control has a second hardware device, preferably a SIM card reader (16a), for the unambiguous identification of the remote control (12). This ensures that only authorized remote controls (12) can communicate with and control the set-top box (5) and also that new entry or changes of user data of authorized persons can only be done with the second device, especially a SIM card (16).
