A low-voltage circuit breaker of compact design has a housing of insulating material with several parallel disposed chambers. A switching mechanism designed as a structural unit is provided in one of the chambers. The other chambers comprise compartments for switching path contacts. The switching mechanism comprises a U-shaped carrier for all moving parts. In particular, a drive shaft with a coupling part, such as a key, as well as a tripping shaft, likewise having a coupling part such as a slot, are provided. A pole control shaft is provided for actuating the switch contacts and is provided at its end with a coupling part such as a slot which comes into engagement with the coupling part of the drive shaft of the switching mechanism if the latter is built into the switch gear.

A circuit breaker including first and second spaced-apart stationary contacts and a movable contact operable between open and closed positions with respect to the stationary contact wherein the movable contact, when in the closed position, conducts electricity between the stationary contacts and wherein the movable contact, when in the open position, is spaced apart from one of the stationary contacts. The movable contact has a longitudinal slot extending from one end thereof, and the movable contact is pivotally engaged to one of the stationary contacts at the movable contact end wherein the slot is located. The first stationary contact has an end portion thereof which is disposed within the movable contact slot. Also included are means for effecting movement of the movable contact between the open and closed positions.

A circuit breaker having stationary and movable contacts operable between open and closed positions with the movable contact being biased in an open position. The movable contact is mounted to a contact and spring holder which engages one link in a toggle means. The first link is connected to a second link which has a drive pin secured thereto, and the second link is pivotally connected to a toggle lever. A cam is secured to a rotatable drive shaft, and the cam engages a cam roller which is secured to a follower plate. The follower plate, which rotates about an axis different from the drive shaft axis, has a drive pawl attached thereto, with the drive pawl being disposed adjacent the drive pin. Spring means are pivotally connected to the follower plate and are capable of being in spring charged and discharged positions. The spring is charged by rotation of the drive shaft and cam causing the cam roller to move outwardly. The outward movement of the cam roller causes rotation of the follower plate, resulting in charging of the spring means. The degree of rotation of the cam during the charging rotation is more than twice the degree of rotation of the follower plate, thereby gaining a mechanical advantage. When the spring means discharges, it causes rotation of the follower plate such that the drive pawl is capable of engaging the drive pin to move the toggle means into toggle position. Upon moving into toggle position, the toggle means moves the contact holder and movable contact into closed position. Also included are releasable toggle and drive latch means for holding the toggle means in toggle position and the follower plate in the spring charged position, respectively.

A rotating dual break point contact includes a rotor support, a first shaft, a second shaft, a third shaft, a first connection rod, a second connection rod, a contact bridge and a contact spring. The contact bridge is provided in the rotor support, and the contact bridge rotates relative to the rotor support by means of the first shaft, the second shaft, the third shaft, the first connection rod and the second connection rod. The contact bridge rotates between an initial pressure position and a maximum repulsion position. A single contact spring is mounted on one side of the contact bridge and is located in the rotor support.

The present invention relates to a circuit-breaking device for low-voltage systems with a control mechanism that has improved characteristics of compact size and reliability. The circuit-breaking device according to the invention comprises an outer housing containing, for each pole, at least one fixed contact and at least one moving contact suitable for being mutually coupled and uncoupled. The device also comprises a control mechanism comprising a supporting frame that supports a kinematic chain operatively connected to the moving contact so as to enable the latter to be coupled to or uncoupled from the fixed contact. The supporting frame comprises a pair of sides connected by means of a first transverse connecting portion and by further connection means that define a further transverse connecting portion in a different position from that of the first transverse connecting portion.

Disclosed is a mold cased circuit breaker (MCCB) comprising a plurality of single pole breaking units simultaneously opened and closed by a pair of common shaft pins. The MCCB effectively transmits a torque for opening or closing contacts to adjacent single pole breaking unit for electrical pole with a minimized loss, and prevents the shaft pins from being bent. The MCCB comprises a crank installed across the pair of shaft pins so as to connect the shaft pins to each other.
