摘要： A display device includes a display unit, a storing unit, a navigation string generating unit, and a display control unit. The display unit includes a first region and a second region. The display unit displays, in the first region, one of a plurality of screen images managed hierarchically. The plurality of screen images includes a first screen image and a second screen image. The storing unit stores a plurality of character strings corresponding to the plurality of screen images. The navigation string generating unit includes a specifying unit and a generating unit. The specifying unit specifies a setting value selected for at least the second screen image that was navigated through to arrive at the first screen image currently displayed in the first region. The generating unit generates a navigation string including at least one of the character strings corresponding to the second screen image and a setting data representing the setting value. The display control unit controls the display unit to display the navigation string in the second region.

摘要： A note-type personal computer according to the present invention has an LCD for displaying information stored in an internal storage provided therein, and an external storage or an external picture server connected thereto, via the internet. And, operation for the information stored in the respective storages is performed by the user in the same procedure using operation units such as a keyboard, a touch pad, with indication on the LCD confirmed. When the information stored in the picture server is displayed, the LCD displays auxiliary information indicative of this notice. The LCD displays the auxiliary information using a different folder name, or displays the auxiliary information on the background of a display area of the LCD. So, the user can confirm contents on the internet easily without the need of performing complicated operations.

The system has an information processing terminal and an image forming apparatus that are connected so as to permit data to be transmitted and received therebetween. The information processing terminal includes a display controller that causes an icon corresponding to a data file to be stored in a prescribed storage destination displayed on a display device, an input unit that receives the selection of said icon by the user and an instruction to incorporate as a data file corresponding to the selected icon an image file formed by said image forming apparatus, and a transmission unit that, in accordance with the instruction received by said input unit to incorporate said image file, sends to said image forming apparatus information that includes at least the identification information by which to identify the storage destination for said image file, the file name for the data file corresponding to the selected icon and the storage position information that indicates the storage position on said storage destination in which said data file is to be stored. The image forming apparatus includes a registration unit that registers settings information that includes at least the identification information by which to identify the storage destination for said image file, the storage position information that indicates the storage position in said storage destination, and the file name for said image file, and a display controller that causes a selection key for said settings information registered by said registration unit on a display device, wherein the display controller creates a new selection key for said settings information to be displayed on said display device when the new settings information is registered by said registration unit, based on said information sent from said information processing terminal.
