Abstract:
Systems and methods for providing computer based printing, scanning and faxing. A computer device is used in a system configuration to describe a fax operation as a sequence of commands from a fax description language (FDL) forming a program unit, wherein the program unit may be constructed, transmitted and executed in a single operational step. The computer device is also used to configure, send and/or retrieve facsimile messages for fax jobs, wherein the fax job requests are sent through an existing print subsystem. Accordingly, a user may send a fax configuration or fax job send or retrieve request as a print job.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for uploading photographic data from a wireless device, where the process includes the receiving of a data packet from a mobile phone having digital photograph data and a header configured under a first format with the communication interface, re-configuring the received data packet under a second format with the communication interface, and transmitting the re-configured data packet to a destination device.
Abstract:
A method for transmitting facsimile data between facsimile apparatuses each connected to a relay apparatus, and relay apparatuses being connected each other through an internet protocol network, includes steps of: performing an address conversion from a telephone number of a facsimile apparatus of the reception side to an IP address corresponding to the telephone number; transmitting a request for TCP connection to a relay apparatus corresponding to a destination of the IP address when receiving an identifying signal which indicates transmission of the facsimile data from the facsimile apparatus of the sending side; and transmitting the facsimile data to the relay apparatus corresponding to the destination of the IP address based on the TCP connection.
Abstract:
Internet facsimile apparatus 1 notifies a facsimile number of the final destination to server 3 and acquires an e-mail address of a relay apparatus from server 3. And it transmits an e-mail attached image information to Internet facsimile apparatus 2 corresponding to the acquired e-mail address. At this time, it inserts a relay transfer instruction command to a part of a header of the e-mail to order a relay transfer. Internet facsimile apparatus 2 functioning as a relay apparatus converts a specific predetermined information among the header information of the e-mail to be relay transferred into the same format as that of the image information, and transmits the converted specific information with the image information to facsimile apparatus 4 of the final destination.
Abstract:
A data transmission device includes a transmitter for transmitting image data having a plurality of pages, page by page. A processor is provided for describing in a command header of transmit data, image data specified information which specifies that the image data attached to the transmit data is concerned with the image data having a plurality of pages transmitted by the transmitter.
Abstract:
In the Internet facsimile communication system, to exchange the functions of one another between the transmitting side and the receiving side, the Internet facsimile machine 20 carries out facsimile communication by using an electronic mail via the Internet. The principal control unit 1 exchanges the ability of the facsimile machine with that of the other end by using the electronic mail with the same communicating procedure as the communicating procedure of ITU-T recommendation T-30 used in the facsimile communication, and transmits an image data according to the exchanged ability of each facsimile machine. The electronic mail includes the FAXID (facsimile communication identifying number) which is the data for identifying the series of facsimile communication.
Abstract:
A communication connecting device includes a data storage to which data read by a scanner are written. A packetizer packetizes the data read out of the data storage in accordance with a packet size fed from a size information storage. A rate controller counts a period of time after the start of packet transmission or a period of time consumed to send a preselected number of packets. The rate controller calculates a communication rate on the basis of the above period of time and the number of packets sent, and then compares the communication rate with a communication rate assigned to a receiving terminal and defined by a Recommendation T.30 protocol. The rate controller allows the packets to be sent only if the calculated communication rate is lower than the communication rate of the receiving terminal.
Abstract:
Pixel information and control information transmitted by a facsimile machine 1a is received by a procedure controlling circuit 13 having a MODEM 13a for facsimile machines. A facsimile procedure controller 14 decodes the pixel information and the control information. A connection/transfer controller 15 edits the decoded information and produces a control packet and a pixel packet. The control packet and the pixel packet are output to a local area network (LAN) 4 via a LAN controller 17 and a LAN control circuit 18. When receiving a facsimile, the control packet signal transmitted via the LAN 4 is converted into pixel control information by the connection/transfer controller 15, and the pixel control information is supplied to the facsimile procedure controller 14. The connection/transfer controller 15 also converts the received pixel packet signal into pixel information. The pixel information is temporarily stored in a memory 16. When a predetermined amount of pixel information is accumulated in the memory 16, the predetermined amount of pixel information is supplied to the facsimile procedure controller 14, and finally transmitted to the facsimile machine 1a via the procedure control circuit 13.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for accepting an incoming message over a circuit switched network and transmitting it over a packet switched network. The apparatus including means for implementing the steps of receiving an incoming call signal along with a inbound address; determining a user account and a final address on said packet switched network associated with said inbound address; allocating a message processing resource; processing said incoming call into a processed message; and, sending said processed message to said final address.
Abstract:
A facsimile transmission method on the CDMA cellular networks is disclosed and includes the following steps. A data terminal having upper layer protocols of a PPP and above recognizes and stores a modem command until a facsimile modem in a base station is acquired, and requests the fax call caused by a modem dial command with dial number to the mobile terminal through a serial interface. The mobile terminal establishes a fax call with a base station based on the same call processing as that of a voice, and acquires the facsimile modem in a base station. After the call establishment between the mobile terminal and the base station, the upper layer protocols in the data terminal are initialized and negotiated with counterpart protocols in the said base station. The data terminal transmits the fax image data encapsulated by the upper layer protocols to the mobile terminal and the mobile terminal transmits it encapsulated and segmented by the lower layer protocols to the base station. The base station recognizes the encapsulated and segmented image data, processed it to remove the protocols and converts the raw data to transmit to the counterpart fax terminal in an identical CDMA network or a different network such as PSTN. Thereafter, the facsimile application software in the data terminal and the counterpart fax terminal progress the facsimile service following the standard phases of the ITU-T recommendation T.30.
