Abstract:
There has been a problem of necessitating a complicated work for establishing a connection capable of intercommunication between a computer as server and a projector as client. When a connection is established between a server 20 and projectors 301 through 30n, a communication command is issued according to UDP-based broadcasting to retrieve connectable projectors 301 through 303. Thereafter, the projector 301 to be connected is selected and is assigned an IP address to establish the connection. In this manner, a user can easily obtain a connection environment capable of intercommunication between the server 20 and the projector 301. A TCP/IP communication command is used to input or output image data, ensuring reliable transmission. Since the authentication can be provided using a keyword projected during the connection establishment, it is possible to prevent an unauthorized access to the projector 301 by an outsider.
Abstract:
An image processing system includes a storage unit configured to store an address book to be used to set a transmission destination of image data, a reception unit configured to receive image data, an acquisition unit configured to acquire a name registered in the address book in association with transmission source information of the image data received by the reception unit, a setting unit configured to set a filename using the name acquired by the acquisition unit to the image data received by the reception unit, and a transmission unit configured to transmit the image data to which the filename is set by the setting unit.
Abstract:
An information processing system including an information processing apparatus that selects between transferring data and obtaining data, and controls transferring data or obtaining data based on the selection. The system also includes a server that stores data transferred from the information processing apparatus, and controls transferring data to the information processing apparatus based on a request for transferring data received from the information processing apparatus.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus which make it possible to search from an information processing apparatus, for an IPv6-compatible image processing apparatus which has an IPv6 network address designated by the information processing apparatus. A device management application determines search conditions, and specifies information associated with a designated network. Further, the device management application generates a IPv6 multicast address using the thus specified information, transmits a search message designating the IPv6 multicast address, and receives a response transmitted from an image processing apparatus associated with the IPv6 multicast address.
Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus includes a common setting which specifies whether a report regarding facsimile transmission is to be outputted, or not, and a specific setting which specifies whether an output of the report regarding facsimile transmission is to be permitted, or not, for each of at least one destination of the facsimile transmission. Further, the facsimile apparatus determines whether the report related to a facsimile transmission to at least one destination is to be outputted, or not, by applying the specific setting corresponding to the at least one destination in preference to the common setting. Further, if it is determined that the report related to the facsimile transmission to the at least one destination is to be outputted, the facsimile apparatus outputs the report including information related to the facsimile transmission to the at least one destination.
Abstract:
A system and method provide a la carte reproduction services wherein a printing system is capable of performing multiple operational printing modes, but is configured, in a normal operational printing state, to perform a subset of the multiple operational printing modes. The printing system includes a user interface to enable a user to select an operational printing mode. The printing system, in response to a user selecting an operational printing mode not included in subset of the multiple operational printing modes, communicates with a printer service provider server to request authorization to perform the user selected operational printing mode. The printer service provider server requests predetermined information from the printing system, and, upon processing and verification of information received from the printing system, configures the printing system to perform the selected operational printing mode.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for network printing using user selectable printer settings. A printing system such as a multi-function printer/device receives user input providing a document identifier (e.g., a release code) identifying a document stored in a network storage server. The printing system also identifies a finisher unit associated with the printing system. The printing system sends the document identifier and a finisher identifier to a print server. The print server determines available printer settings associated with the identified finisher unit and transmits a presentation to the printing system prompting the user to select a desired printer setting. The selected printer settings are transmitted to the print server. The print server retrieves a copy of the identified document and modifies the copy based on the selected printer setting. The modified copy of the document is sent to the printing system to be printed.

Abstract:
In a data processing apparatus, it is an object to realize a mechanism for allowing a setup regarding an image processing apparatus to be made so as to easily execute a job which is requested from said data processing apparatus. Information including an output destination is inputted. Setup information regarding the setup of the own image processing apparatus is stored. The setup information regarding the setup of the own image processing apparatus is transmitted on the basis of the information which is inputted.
Abstract:
This invention provides a first communication apparatus, which makes a facsimile communication via a packet communication network and can describe different contents image header information each including a date, time, source information, destination information, and the like in image data having a predetermined number of pixels upon sending the image data to a plurality of destinations, and a communication method. This invention also provides a second communication apparatus which makes a facsimile communication via a packet communication network and has a first mode in which image header information such as a date, time, source information, destination information, and the like can be described in image data having a predetermined number of pixels and can send the image data, and a second mode in which image data having one of various resolutions and an indefinite number of pixels can be sent.
