Abstract:
An optical reading device, a control method for an optical reading device, and a program for directing execution of the method each enables efficient and quick transmission of digital image data obtained from reading a document to a host computer or other control device. A dot impact printer having an optical reading device that optically reads documents and stores the resulting digitized image data, sets target reading areas, and transmits digital image data stored in a scan buffer rendered in a RAM to the host computer. When multiple target areas are set, the transmission order of the target areas is determined according to specific conditions, and the target areas are transmitted according to this transmission sequence.
Abstract:
Provided is an image reading apparatus communicatable with an image processing apparatus, including: a first reader that reads an image of a first side of a document; a first storage that stores the image read by the first reader; a second reader that reads an image of a second side of the document; a second storage that stores the image read by the second reader; a transmitter that transmits the images stored in the first storage and the second storage to the image processing apparatus; and a controller that, with respect to a first document whose length in a conveyance direction is longer than a predetermined length, causes the transmitter to transmit the image read by the first reader to the image processing apparatus, and causes the first storage and the second storage to store the image read by the second reader.
Abstract:
In an image processing apparatus, an image memory handler (IMH) sets an engine descriptor for an engine unit and a virtual descriptor for a virtual video input driver, thereby controlling moving of image data from a local memory (MEM) to a hard disk drive (HDD). In a process in which the engine unit writes the image data into the MEM in such a manner defined by settings described in the engine descriptor, the virtual video input driver handles occurrence of an interrupt to a PCI direct access in such a manner that the image data is moved from the MEM to the HDD properly.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus transfers image data stored in a first storing part of a side of a first control part to a side of a writing engine. A second storing part temporarily stores the image data from said first storing part. When data stored in the second storing part reaches a data amount to be previously stored in order that continuous transfer of the image data to the side of the writing engine from the second storing part is available at a predetermined transfer rate, even when a predetermined delay occurs in a transfer operation of the image data from the first storing part to the second storing part, reading of the image data from the second storing part is started for starting image forming operation.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a document reader, a storage for storing image data, an image output unit and a control unit. The control unit includes a display image generator for generating a display image, a display panel and a control unit-side controller having a function of presenting the display image based on the image data input in a preview representation and an output processing function of implementing an output process. As the output processing function, two schemes are provided: a first output scheme wherein, when image data has been input through the input unit, the images are output after displaying the images to be output in a preview representation on a display panel, and a second output scheme wherein, when image data has been input through the input unit, the image is directly output without displaying the image to be output in a preview representation on the display panel.
Abstract:
An image file generation device includes: an image file generation unit that generates an image file having stored therein a plurality of sets of image data obtained in a batch via an image sensor; and an image recording unit that records the image file into a storage medium, wherein: if the image file generation unit determines that an image file-splitting condition has been satisfied while the batch of image data is being obtained via the image sensor, the image file generation unit ends image data storage into the current image file and starts image data storage into a new image file.
Abstract:
An image scanning apparatus includes: a feeding unit; an upstream scanning unit that scans an image of one surface of the document; a downstream scanning unit, which is arranged at a downstream side, and which scans an image of the other surface of the document; a memory unit, which stores both data of the upstream scanning unit and data of the downstream scanning unit; and a control unit that controls the document feeding by performing one of a first feeding process and a second feeding process, wherein the first feeding process is a feeding process in which the upstream scanning unit starts to scan a following document while the downstream scanning unit scans a preceding document, and wherein the second feeding process is a feeding process in which the upstream scanning unit starts to scan the following document after the downstream scanning unit scans the preceding document.
Abstract:
An image output apparatus including a first storage unit and a second storage unit having a slower data access speed than the first storage unit, an input unit configured to input image data, a setting unit configured to set a threshold of remaining amount of the first storage unit, a detection unit configured to detect the remaining amount of the first storage unit in which the image data is stored, a determination unit configured to determine whether the remaining amount is smaller than the threshold, a control unit configured to control the storage units so that, when the determination unit determines the remaining amount is smaller than the threshold, image data which is smaller than the image data input by the input unit among the image data stored in the first storage unit is transferred to the second storage unit.
Abstract:
In a digital camera having a wireless communicator with a server, a storage controller treats full size image data and display size image data unequally if the full size image data has been already sent to the server. For example, the display size image data is not allowed to be replaced by new digital image data unless the digital camera is not in use over a prescribed time. Own image data and other's image data are treated equally. Image data received from outside and retrieved from inside memory are treated equally. Search key for own image data and related search keys existing in the outside are indicated in a comparable manner. The digital camera receives search key from neighboring advertiser to send it for Internet search of advertisement. Search key received from neighboring notable site is sent for Internet search of photographs of the notable site taken by others.
