摘要: A valve assembly for controlling the flow of a fluid between a plurality of ports including at least one high pressure port and one low pressure port, includes: a base mounting the plurality of ports; and a valve member rotatable to a selected operational position with respect to the base. The control face of the valve member is formed with a low pressure cavity in the central region, and with an annular high pressure cavity in the outer region completely circumscribing the low pressure cavity. Such an arrangement produces a balanced valve construction which permits the valve member to be selectively rotated to the selected operational position, or to any intermediate position, while substantially isolating the high pressure from the low pressure in all its positions. This permits the valve assembly to be used not only as conventional change-over valve in an air conditioning system to select either a heating mode or cooling mode of operation, but also as a control valve to perform one or more additional control functions, e.g. for temperature or output control purposes, in any operational positions of the valve member.

摘要: A fluid pulse operated system provides selective output for operating a fluid device, such as reversing operation of a fluid motor, or memory device in a logic environment. The system includes a pair of chambers separated by a flexible diaphragm. Fluid paths, one through each of the chambers, each includes an inlet for pressurized fluid into the associated chamber and a chamber outlet connected with a normally closed vent valve. Output signal lines are provided in the paths, one between each of the outlets and the associated vent valve, for connection with the motor or providing memory signals. The diaphragm serves as a valve member which selectively cooperates with one of a pair of valve seats, one for each of the outlets, for closing the selected outlet. During normal operation of the system either of the outlets may be open and the other closed by the diaphragm which is releasably retained in its selected closed position by a differential in facial area of opposite sides of the diaphragm exposed to fluid in the respective chambers. In order to reverse the diaphragm, thereby opening the previously closed outlet and closing the formerly open outlet, the vent associated with the outlet to be closed is momentarily opened, thereby reducing the fluid pressure in the associated chamber and causing the diaphram to reverse its position and seat against the valve seat about the outlet to be closed. The system operates with little power while pulsing through a control cycle and stands by with no power in a static condition, by provision of positive fluid pressure, being decreased by control pulses and by provision of gating structures sealing off leakage paths in static condition.

摘要: A fluid operated control valve for controlling fluid flow of a system which includes a first and a second fluid channels therein, the control valve includes: a hollow casing with closed first and second ends; a piston member slidably disposed within the casing and defining thereby within the casing a first chamber adjacent to the first end of the casing and a second chamber adjacent to the second end of the casing; a first magnet disposed adjacent the first chamber of the casing for attracting the piston member to a first terminal position; a second magnet disposed adjacent the second chamber of the casing for attracting the piston member to a second terminal position. The control valve further includes: an input port disposed adjacent to an intermediate location in the casing; a first output port disposed in the casing in fluid communication with the first chamber; a second output port disposed in the casing in fluid communication with the second chamber; wherein the control valve is adapted to alternately inflate and deflate the two fluid channels of the system through the ports in response to the reciprocal movement of the piston member. Pad systems utilizing the control valve are also disclosed.

摘要: A pneumatic control for cyclic successive activation of a plurality of pressure fluid consumers and comprising a series of control modules abutting each other in side by side relation for controlling activation of respective ones of the consumers. Each control module comprises a logic plate containing an AND gate and an OR gate and supporting a bistable impulse valve. Each control module further includes a connection plate having connecting openings in its front and rear sides for communication between adjacent modules and means for connecting to the associated consumer. An intermediate seal plate interposed between the connection plate and logic plate has channels therethrough connecting the gates and bistable valve on the logic plate with the connecting openings and connecting means in the connection plate in a manner determined by the pattern of such channels in such intermediate seal plate. The end, or last, control module in the series has an intermediate seal plate differing in the arrangement of its connecting channels from the intermediate seal plates of the preceding control modules to assist in starting a new operating cycle of the plurality of control modules and their associated consumers.

摘要: A pneumatic logic control module is disclosed which includes three miniaturized, piloted, detented relay valves mounted on a pneumatic circuit board including a valve mounting plate, a circuit plate having routed flow paths formed in each face, and a connector plate having barbed ports for receiving flexible tubes. The pneumatic circuit interconnects the relay valves so that the relay valves are shifted from a normal position to an active position and locks to the normal position in a predetermined sequence to produce a series of pneumatic pressure signals. The module produces a first pneumatic pressure signal in response to a start signal which is used to initiate a first event. A return verification signal indicating that the first event has been completed terminates the first pressure signal, and initiates a second pressure signal which starts a second event. A second return verification pressure signal indicating that the second event has been completed terminates the second event pressure signal and initiates a third pressure signal. The circuit is designed to prevent any subsequent event, including a relay valve shift, from occurring before positive verification that all preceeding events have occurred. Any or all relay valves can be reset to the normal position, or any one relay valve can be preset to the active position so that the automatic sequence can be initiated at any desired event. The module has all ports necessary to permit any number of modules to be cascaded in series, in parallel, in combinations of series and parallel circuits, or in nested loops to provide complete flexibility in designing a pneumatic logic circuit. Limit valves, time delays, proximity and temperature sensors, and other devices may be used in the verification circuit. A unique circuit board assembly is also disclosed which utilizes a simplified shuttle valve structure.
