    Abstract: The application discloses an eartip, an earphone device, an earphone housing and a hearbud housing device. The eartip can include an outer portion, an inner portion, and an encapsulated volume formed by the inner and outer portion, wherein the outer portion is designed to contact the ear canal, and wherein the inner portion is designed to fit upon a stent. In an alternative embodiment, the airtip can include an inverted body, wherein when the inverted body is at least partially folded on itself the inverted body is arranged to include a bulbous region sized for insertion in an ear canal, a cavity internal to the bulbous region that holds a gas, where increasing pressure on the bulbous region releases a portion of the gas.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses an audio device output energy control method for protecting hearing, the method including: step S1, obtaining energy or pressure at a speaker or at any point in a sound field from the speaker to a tympanic membrane by means of calculation or measurement, which serves as the energy or pressure at the tympanic membrane or cochlea of a user after compensation or calculation; step S2, calculating a cumulative hearing loss value according to the energy or pressure at the tympanic membrane or cochlea of the user, or calculating cumulative energy at any point in the sound field from the speaker to the tympanic membrane according to the energy or pressure at that location, and then equivalently calculating a cumulative hearing loss value at the tympanic membrane or cochlea of the user; step S3, comparing the cumulative hearing loss value with a preset hearing loss threshold, and performing step S4 if the cumulative hearing loss value reaches the hearing loss threshold; and step S4, reducing a volume of the audio device. The present invention can monitor the energy at the tympanic membrane or cochlea of the user in real time and adjust the output energy of the audio device in time, thus realizing hearing protection.

    Abstract: A system comprising a scanner to scan an ear and a processor to receive, from the scanner, a non-manifold three-dimensional (3D) digital surface model (DSM) scan data representative of a non-manifold 3D surface model of the auditory canal and the concha of the ear. The 3D surface model is an outer boundary surface for an earpiece appliance. The processor determines an extrema boundary located at a free edge of the 3D surface model; recognizes anatomical features including a cymba concha and auditory canal peak; modifies the 3D surface model relative to the anatomical features by creating a base boundary plane for the appliance, offset some distance from the extrema boundary; creates a closed volume within and between the outer boundary surface, the extrema boundary and the base boundary plane to form a solid 3D earpiece appliance; and causes a computer-aided manufacturing device to manufacture the solid 3D earpiece appliance.

    Abstract: Occlusion divices, earpiece devices and metods of forming occlusion devices are provided. An occlusion device is configured to occlude an ear canal. The occlusion device includes an insertion element and at least one expandalde element disposed on the insertion element. The expandable element is configured to receive a medium via the insertion element and is configured to expand, responsive to the medium, to contact the ear canal. Physical parameters of the occlusion device are selected to produce a predetermined sound attenuation characteristic over a frequency band, such that sound is attenuated more in a first frequency range of the frequency band than in a second frequency range of the frequency band.
