摘要： A device useful for exercising in a swimming pool or other body of water which allows the person to be supported in a substantially seated upright position in the body of water such that the neck, head and upper shoulders of the person remain out of the water, allowing the person to exercise the legs, arms and torso while neutrally buoyant. The device is constructed of a buoyant body that is contoured to be stable and recessed laterally to be comfortably straddled by a person exercising, and includes a smaller forward portion and a larger (in volume) rear portion upon which the person is seated while in the water. The particular shape of the device is such that the center of buoyancy of the body is positioned to substantially be disposed forward of the vertical spine (near the center of gravity) of the user for balance and stability in the water. The user, may thus sit upon the body and freely move his legs and arms for exercise in a seated, upright position.In an alternate embodiment, a water paddling device, which is engagable with the feet of the user, may be suspended vertically below the buoyant body for more stringent leg exercise and may be used for transportation about the body of water, or to create a whirlpool effect around the body of the user.

摘要： Modules composed of polymer foam blocks with impervious shells are individually provided with a continuous channel about the periphery of each module. Joined, a plurality of such modules form a load-supporting floating structure, the integrity of which is maintained by floatable bars which are fitted closely into the facing channels formed in adjacent modules to provide interconnections between the modules and a tension band which encircles the structure in outer aligned channels formed by the modules, channel bars of relatively rigid material being first fitted into such encircling aligned channels, which bars in turn receive the tension band. Optionally, a plurality of perimeter pieces may be provided at the circumference of the structure, each perimeter piece including a tongue fitting in adjacent aligned channels of the modules, an encircling channel being defined by the perimeter pieces which receives the tension band.

摘要： A breakaway cockpit for a kayak is disclosed which includes an egress opening (26) formed in a deck (12) of a kayak hull. An egress panel (28) covers the opening. A cockpit rim (16) surrounding the cockpit opening (14) of the cockpit (18) is interrupted so that a boater may escape from the cockpit through the egress opening. A rim (30) of the egress panel (28) and the rim (16) of the cockpit opening from a composite rim about the entire periphery of the cockpit opening. A sealing strip (34) seals the joint between the egress opening and panel against the entry of water and also assists in retaining the egress panel in place. The egress panel may be popped out by manual force in the event of an emergency so that the boater may escape the cockpit.

摘要： A floating unsinkable nautical craft comprises a hull having a keel portion below the water line and an upper portion. A longitudinally extending passenger compartment is provided at least mostly in the keel portion while a pilot's cockpit and passenger entrance are provided in the upper portion. Longitudinally extending dome-shaped observation windows are provided in the sides of the passenger compartment, the windows being of such length and height as to provide several passengers with an underwater view horizontally and downwards. A separate stabilization and bouyancy structure is connected rigidly to the upper portion of the hull and extends laterally to both sides with flotation and water ballast chambers at the ends. A pump is provided for varying the ballast to vary the draught of the craft.
