A method for operating a parking lot, which has a first parking area section for parking a motor vehicle, which is adjustable in its height with the aid of a hoisting system and which is able to be shifted by the hoisting system from a first position, in which a motor vehicle is able to enter the first parking area section, to a second position, and when the first parking area section is in the second position, a second parking area section for parking a motor vehicle becomes available underneath the first parking area section. The method includes executing an automatic parking operation for a motor vehicle to be parked in the parking lot; and controlling an operation of the hoisting system as a function of execution of the automatic parking operation. In view of the foregoing, an embodiment herein provides an automatic processing unit for car storing and retrieving system for the multilevel park system. Specifically, the automatic processing car storing and retrieving system includes an integrated central car handling unit and microcontroller unit, wherein said integrated central car handling unit comprises at least one collection-delivery rack to carry the car; at least one up-down platform to move the car vertically; and at least one wheeled platforms to move the car in a circular movement. A mechanism for moving vehicles within a vehicle parking structure comprises a lift platform which can be moved vertically and laterally to positions in register with one or more transfer rooms through which vehicles enter and leave the structure and a selected parking space of the structure. A vehicle transfer mechanism is carried on the platform and includes four self-powered tractors carrying lift arms that can be driven off the platform to engage the tires of a vehicle and to transfer that vehicle onto the platform for transportation between a transfer room and a parking space. The tractors, when deployed, pass outside the vehicle tires with the lift arms folded and can then be operated to extend the arms in a way that engages the tires and lifts the vehicle.

Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) can move between the legs of a tray and then lift the tray with the vehicle thereon for moving the vehicle to or from parking spaces in a parking facility. Each parking space has a vehicle lift device suspended from the ceiling. Each vehicle lift device includes a tray support for supporting the tray and the vehicle thereon. The AGV can move the tray and the vehicle into a position at the parking space so that the tray and the vehicle can be lifted by the vehicle lift device. Thus, another vehicle can be moved into position below the lifted tray and vehicle.

Two four-bar linkage mechanisms are jointed with a first end of the lifting arm, while a second end of the lifting arm is rotatablely jointed with the frame. The frame includes a horizontal base seat and two columns with vertical guiding groove respectively symmetrically disposed on left side and right side of the horizontal base seat. A crossbeam is coupled between two columns. The four-bar linkage mechanism is disposed between two columns, and the four-bar linkage mechanism is respectively jointed with the loading plate and the lifting arm. In the present invention, the loading plate will be well guided and move freely. The structure of the cantalever style loading plate is simple; it is suitably applied in the double-deck parking garage.
