    摘要: The present application discloses a light pipe assembly having a light pipe with a proximal end, an opposing distal end, a length between the proximal end and the distal end, and a surface, the surface having an emitting portion and an overlay portion, where the light pipe is a material capable of transmitting light with a first refractive index; and a reflective secondary surface having a second refractive index and a width, the reflective secondary surface positioned adjacent the overlay portion of the light pipe, where the first refractive index is greater than the refractive index of air, and the second refractive index is greater than the first refractive index. In at least one embodiment, the reflective secondary surface is a non-metallic material capable of reflecting light. In at least one embodiment, the width of the reflective secondary surface varies along the length of the light pipe.

    摘要: A vehicle lamp includes a light source and a light guide body configured to guide light from the light source therein and emit the light toward a front side of the lamp. The light guide body includes a first rod-shaped light guide portion configured to guide light incident from an incident end surface, a second rod-shaped light guide portion configured to guide the incident light, and a plate-shaped light guide portion formed in an area between the first rod-shaped light guide portion and the second rod-shaped light guide portion. The plate-shaped light guide portion has an end side surface configured to totally reflect at least a portion of light, which travels in the plate-shaped light guide portion, toward the first rod-shaped light guide portion and/or the second rod-shaped light guide portion.

The light-transmitting member has a wide width portion and a narrow width portion. A width of the incident end surface of the wide width portion is larger than a width of the light guide in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the light guide. A width of the incident end surface of the narrow width portion is smaller than the width of the incident end surface of the wide width portion. The incident end surface has a curved surface convex toward the light guide at least in the wide width portion. A curvature of the incident end surface in the wide width portion is greater than a curvature of the incident end surface in the narrow width portion.

The optic device is configured to transmit the input emission through the body, emit a first portion of the input emission along a primary path directed toward a passenger compartment of the vehicle, and emit a second portion of the input emission along a stray light path into a light trap formed by the body and arranged substantially opposite the light extraction surface.
