In at least one embodiment, the reflective secondary surface is a non-metallic material capable of reflecting light. In at least one embodiment, the width of the reflective secondary surface varies along the length of the light pipe.

A housing has a plurality of mounting locations configured to respectively align a plurality of light sources configured to illuminate the functional marking or the functional surface, or both, in a lit mode. A controller is configured to individually control each of the plurality of light sources for providing different illumination patterns of the functional marking and the functional surface such that such that automotive functional lighting and non-automotive functional lighting is provided.

摘要: A programmable glare-free high beam device onboard a vehicle includes a plurality of light sources and an input coupler for combining light from the plurality of light sources. A focusing lens is adapted to receive light emitted from the input coupler and focus the light onto a digital micro-mirror device (DMD). The DMD has a plurality of individual micro-mirrors for reflecting light received from the focusing lens. A projection lens is adapted to receive light from the DMD and to project the light to form a spot distribution of a high beam light pattern. A plurality of auxiliary optics are adapted to form a broadened distribution of the high beam light pattern. A controller is provided for adaptively controlling the plurality of LEDs, the DMD, and the plurality of auxiliary optics to actively dim or turn off portions of the high beam light pattern.

摘要: A vehicle lamp includes one or more LEDs mounted to a printed circuit board for producing light. One or more inner lenses are coupled to LEDs for receiving light such that light enters along an edge or surface of each inner lens and propagates through each inner lens before exiting. A projection lens is oriented adjacent the inner lenses such that the projection lens receives light from the inner lenses and projects the light from the vehicle lamp. A light blocking material is applied to at least a portion of the projection lens for altering an appearance of light emitted from the projection lens. The resulting projections provide custom lit appearances having varying patterns, intensity, texture, and/or color. The vehicle lamp may be used for satisfying vehicle lamp legal functions, welcome functions, autonomous driving functions, and/or logo functions.
