    摘要: A main burner 22, a pilot burner 25, and a lead-in pipe 29 supplying combustion exhaust to the pilot burner 25 are arranged in a combustion chamber R2. A flame arrester 27 with small holes 27 a is provided at a bottom plate 13. Furthermore, a primary thermocouple 26 detecting the flame state of the pilot burner 25 and a secondary thermocouple 28 detecting the temperature in the combustion chamber R2 are connected in series but with opposite polarities. When the flame arrester 27 clogs up with fine particles, the pilot burner 25, which sucks in combustion exhaust, performs abnormal combustion before the main burner 22, which is detected by the primary thermocouple 26 and the secondary thermocouple 28, whereupon the combustion with the main burner 22 is stopped. Thus, incomplete combustion due to blocking of the air supply path can be prevented.

    摘要: A programmable burner for gas stoves, which is constituted by a gas burner and a safety valve that includes a thermocouple, which is located in coincidence with an external edge of the burner. The safety valve is maintained open when the thermocouple is detecting the presence of a flame on the gas burner and is closed when the burner has been turned off. An electrode is placed near of the external periphery of the burner for igniting. A spark generation module is connected with the electrode for generating the sparks for igniting the burner. A spark interrupter is connected to the spark generation module, the spark interrupter being located over a burner knob that is connected to the safety valve, for activating or deactivating the spark generation of the spark generation module. Finally a programmable device is connected with the thermocouple and the security valve, for programming the ignition time of the burner in accordance with a preestablished operation time by user.

    摘要: When an error occurs to a combustion device, a microcomputer inside a control apparatus for the combustion device closes a safety valve thereby stopping gas supply to a gas burner. In a conventional control apparatus, when a power source resetting is actuated with a power switch, the safety valve is opened to supply the gas burner with gas even though the cause for the error has not been resolved. As a solution, when an error occurs, the fact of such an occurrence is stored in a nonvolatile memory, i.e., electrically erasable programmable read-only memory, EEPROM. It is so arranged that, unless the reset switch is operated, the memory in the EEPROM is not reset. After resetting, the memory in the EEPROM is read out. As long as the reset has not been made, the safety valve is not opened, but the program immediately proceeds to a state in which the operation of the reset switch is held in suspension.

    摘要: A smoke density monitor for mounting on a ship smokestack. The smoke density monitor provides a transmitter head and a receiver head mounted to a smokestack. The transmitter head and receiver head are optically connected with a density monitor by means of fiber-optic lines. The density monitor is electrically connected to an alarm monitor, which at pre-set smokestack smoke densities activates an alarm and/or shuts down the ship's burner(s). An optional recorder may be connected to the alarm monitor to preserve a record of smoke density. Each transmitter and recorder head has an optical head slidably attached to a head housing for ease of servicing and maintenance. Each head housing incorporates an exit chamber, a trap chamber and a head chamber. The head chamber houses an optical head lens. The trap chamber provides the capability of trapping particulates to prevent their adhesion to the optical head lens. Sealing air is pumped into the exit chamber by a sealing air supply, and exits the exit chamber through an exit chamber mouth into the smokestack bore. The continuous flow of sealing air through each head housing helps keep dust and smoke in the chimney bore from coating the optical head lens, which would produce erroneous results. A sealing air fitting valve regulates the rate of sealing air flow through the head housing.

In a preferred embodiment, a distributed feedback based diode laser sensor operating at a wavelength near 1996.89 nm (5007.787 cmnull1) interrogates the R(50) transition of the null1null2null2nullnull3 CO2 absorption band in the near infrared. This transition is specifically chosen based on its superior linestrength and substantial isolation from interfering absorption by high-temperature H2O, CO, NH3, N2O, NO, and other species commonly present in combustion or other high-temperature gas flows.
