摘要: A gravity-style furnace subunit for a gas-induced draft furnace. A heat conduction tube configured to be located inside of a gas-induced draft furnace cabinet, the heat conduction tube being separated from a row of draft-induced heat conduction tubes inside the cabinet. A burner assembly having a burner tube located within the heat conduction tube through an inlet opening of the heat conduction tube. The burner assembly permits air flow through the inlet opening into the heat conduction tube. A pilot assembly located within the heat conduction tube and adjacent to the burner tube. A thermopile module having located adjacent to a flame outlet of the pilot assembly within the heat conduction tube. A gas valve configured to control gas flow to the burner assembly, the gas valve electrically coupled to the thermopile module and to actuate gas flow there-through when the thermopile module generates a predefined voltage difference.

摘要: A controller for a fuel-fired appliance comprising a microprocessor that is able to detect an interruption in power, and immediately store errors and historical diagnostic information in a non-volatile memory before the microprocessor powers down. Upon restoration of power, the microprocessor would flash or display the most recent error codes on the controller's diagnostic LED or display. The microprocessor is also able to detect an open fuse condition, and flash or display the fuse error on the display.

摘要: When an error occurs to a combustion device, a microcomputer inside a control apparatus for the combustion device closes a safety valve thereby stopping gas supply to a gas burner. In a conventional control apparatus, when a power source resetting is actuated with a power switch, the safety valve is opened to supply the gas burner with gas even though the cause for the error has not been resolved. As a solution, when an error occurs, the fact of such an occurrence is stored in a nonvolatile memory, i.e., electrically erasable programmable read-only memory, EEPROM. It is so arranged that, unless the reset switch is operated, the memory in the EEPROM is not reset. After resetting, the memory in the EEPROM is read out. As long as the reset has not been made, the safety valve is not opened, but the program immediately proceeds to a state in which the operation of the reset switch is held in suspension.

摘要: Electronic control system for an oil burner has a primary direct current power source controlled by a thermostat and a secondary direct current power source independent of the thermostat. A first relay is in circuit with the oil burner motor to energize the same and a second relay is in series with the first and with an alternating voltage source for energizing the ignitor of the furnace. An electronic circuit controls the first relay switch and includes a pair of silicon controlled rectifiers (SCR's) connected in series for energizing the first relay. A second electronic circuit includes a pair of interconnected NPN transistors for controlling the operation of the second relay switch. The first NPN transistor is conductive when the second relay switch is energized and the second NPN transistor is connected to the first to turn "OFF" the same in response to flame being sensed in the furnace. A flame sensing element in the furnace is associated with a control relay for controlling a pair of relay switches, one of which is in series with the SCR's and the other is adapted to energize a redundant pair of time-delay circuits. Each time-delay circuit includes a capacitor and a programmable unijunction transistor (PUT) programmed to breakover at a voltage which is a function of a first predetermined time for charging a capacitor and a resistance in the cathode circuit of each PUT which provides for a second predetermined time for the discharge of the capacitor voltage to hold the second relay "OPEN" by conduction through the second NPN transistor. Another electronic circuit includes an NPN transistor and PNP transistor connected to energize the first relay switch.

摘要: A gas burner control system utilizes an electrical resistance igniter to ignite a main burner. Electronic sensing means is located adjacent the burner and adjacent a portion of the igniter where opposite voltage polarity exists between the igniter and sensing means. Current flows from the igniter to the sensing means when the igniter is heated above ignition temperature. Circuit means is responsive to such current flow to de-energize the igniter and enable gas to flow for a timed trial ignition period, the igniter having sufficient mass to remain at or above ignition temperature for the trial ignition period. When ignition occurs, the circuit means is responsive to current flow through burner flame from the sensing means to the burner to maintain gas flow.

摘要: AN OVEN BURNER CONTROL SYSTEM FOR MAINTAINING THE OPERATION OF THE OVEN BURNER SYSTEM OF A BAKING OVEN FOR BAKERY PRODUCTS DURING POWER FAILURES OF SHORT DURATION. THE OVEN BURNERS ARE ADAPTED TO BE CONNECTED WITH A SOURCE OF GASEOUS FUEL THROUGH AN ELECTRICALLY CONTROLLED VALVE ADAPTED TO BE CONNECTED WITH A SOURCE OF ELECTRICAL POWER. THE CONTROL VALVE IS MANUALLY MOVABLE TO AN OPEN FUEL SUPPLYING POSITION AND A CONTROL ELEMENT IS OPERABLE TO HOLD THE CONTROL VALVE IN THE OPEN POSITION SO LONG AS THE ELETRICAL SIGNAL FROM THE POWER SOURCE REMAINS SUBSTANTIALLY CONSTANT. ELECTRICALLY OPERABLE AND NORMALLY CONTINUOUSLY ENERGIZED FUEL IGNITORS ARE PROVIDED FOR IGNITING THE FUEL. TIMER APPARATUS IS PROVIDED FOR PRECLUDING OPERATION OF THE FUEL IGNITORS FOR A PREDETERMINED TIME AT THE COMMENCEMENT OF A BAKING CYCLE TO ACCOMPLISH PURGING OF THE OVEN PRIOR TO IGNITION. AT THE END OF THE CYCLE THE TIMER IS RESET WHEN THE POWER IS TURNED OFF. TO PREVENT THE TIMER FROM BEING RESET DURING A

MOMENTARY INTERRUPTION OF POWER AND FROM COMMENCING ITS TIMING CYCLE WHEN POWER IS RESUMED, POWER IS SUPPLIED TO THE TIMER FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THERE IS A POWER SOURCE INTERRUPTION. RELAY MEANS IS CONNECTED IN PARALLEL WITH THE TIMER APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING THE FUEL IGNITORS. TIME DELAY CONTROL APPARATUS IS CONNECTED IN CIRCUIT WITH THE CONTROL VALVE, THE RELAY APPARATUS, THE TIMER, AND THE POWER SOURCE TO DELAY THE EFFECT WHICH AN ELECTRICAL SIGNAL INTERRUPTION OTHERWISE WOULD HAVE ON THE CONTROL VALVE, RELAY APPARATUS, AND TIMER. INTERCHANGEABLE CONNECTOS ARE PROVIDED FOR SELECTIVELY CONNECTING THE TIME DELAY CONTROL APPARATUS INTO THE CIRCUIT.
