    摘要: A gas valve assembly may include an electronic valve controller secured relative to a valve body. The electronic controller may be configured to count each operational cycle of the gas valve and maintain a cumulative count of the number of operational cycles experienced by the gas valve in a memory, such as a non-volatile memory. In some cases, the non-volatile memory may also store one or more operational cycle threshold values that may be retrieved and compared to the cumulative count of the number of operational cycles experienced by the gas valve. In some instances, where the cumulative count of the number of operational cycles experienced by the gas valve meets and/or exceeds the threshold number of operational cycles, the gas valve may be prevented from opening.

    摘要: A heater for a liquid has a combustion chamber, a jacket for the liquid extending about the combustion chamber and a burner head assembly connected to the combustion chamber. The burner head assembly includes a housing having a burner mounted thereon and a hollow interior. A control module and a fan are mounted in the hollow interior, the fan being connected to an electric motor. A compressor and a fuel pump are mounted on the housing and are operatively connected to the electric motor. The control module may include controls for exercising components of the heater prior to combustion, thereby verifying operation of these components. Preferably there is a speed control for the motor, such as a closed loop speed control which regulates motor speed and accordingly output of the heater. Preferably there is a backup system using a lookup table in the event that the closed loop speed control fails. Also preferably there is provision for monitoring flame sensor functionality by providing an indicator light which mirrors operation of the flame sensor. The heater may have a selective soft start for the coolant pump which operates only when required so as to reduce unnecessary chatter on the motor relay. A system is also provided for distinguishing true overcurrent faults from overcurrents arising from voltage changes during starting of the vehicle engine. Reignition algorithms are provided to restart the burner in the event of flame sputters caused, for example, by fuel bubbles, but shut off the heater in the event that the fuel is truly cut off.

    摘要: A burner control system for controlling loads such as a blower motor and an electronic pump of a burner which comprises a drive voltage regulating circuit for varying the drive voltages corresponding to the loads to thereby vary the amount of heat being generated from the burner in the actuated condition. A microprocessor outputs a plurality of load control signals. A drive signal generating circuit for initiating in response to the plurality of load control signals received from the microprocessor generates a plurality of drive signals for driving the loads. A driving circuit powers the loads in accordance with the plurality of drive signals from the drive signal generating circuit. A method for controlling loads such as a blower motor and an electronic pump of a burner comprises the steps of selecting drive voltages corresponding to the loads, selecting data corresponding to the selected drive voltages to output a plurality of load control signals; and receiving the plurality of load control signals to power the loads. Therefore, the thermal efficiency of the burner can be increased by preventing incomplete combustion which results from the unbalanced output of the blower motor with the amount of fuel being supplied by the electronic pump.
