Abstract:
An ultraviolet-curable resin composition comprising a phosphorus atom-containing photopolymerizable compound and a carboxyl group-containing photopolymerizable compound and exhibiting surface tension at 25° C. in the range of 30 to 50 mN/m. Preferably the composition comprises (a) a compound having one or more (meth)acryloyl groups in its molecule and a phosphorus atom, (b) a compound having at least one carboxyl group and one (meth)acryloyl group in its molecule, (c) a compound having one or more (meth)acryloyl groups in its molecule, (d) a leveling agent, and (e) a photoinitiator. The ultraviolet-curable resin composition is useful as a protective material for etching, particularly as a back-coating material in the production of a shadow mask.
Abstract:
A color cathode ray tube has a color selection electrode structure made by stretching and welding a color selection electrode having a plurality of apertures to a frame while applying tension in the minor axis direction. A non-perforated region gradually becomes wider from a center portion to both end portions in the minor axis direction. Thus, sufficient tension is applied in the peripheral portion of the perforated region in the major axis direction of the color selection electrode, so that vibrations do not occur easily and the color selection electrode does not warp. Therefore, a color cathode ray tube with excellent color purity can be obtained.
Abstract:
A color CRT equipped with a slot type shadow mask is provided, which enables to reduce the moire phenomenon without deteriorating its vertical resolution. The color CRT contains a shadow mask having slots allowing selectively electron beams to arrive at the phosphor screen through the mask. Each of the slots has an vertically elongated shape. The slots are arranged horizontally at a fixed horizontal pitch, and vertically at a fixed vertical pitch. At least two vertically adjacent ones of the slots have a bridge area therebetween. Each of the bridge areas serves as an electron-beam stopping area. In addition, at least two horizontally adjacent ones of the slots are vertically shifted at a fixed value equal to or greater than a half of the vertical pitch. The electron beams are scanned perpendicular to the slots. The vertical pitch of the slots is set at a value ranging from 0.2 mm to 0.5 mm. Each of the bridges preferably has a fixed vertical width ranging from 0.02 mm to 0.08 mm.
Abstract:
A color selection means is described in which the mask (50) is stretched under tension and connected to a support frame. The support frame accurately determines the mask contour, while the mask is connected to this frame in a flexible way by mechanical means so that differences in expansion behavior of the mask and the frame can be handled. These connection means can be either lugs or resilient elements (59). Such a color selection means may be used in a color display tube having an at least substantially flat display screen.
Abstract:
In the case of shadow masks which are pretensioned vertically and horizontally and the horizontal pretension of which is produced by stretching in the vertical direction, an expensive mask material having a low coefficient of thermal expansion can only be replaced by a less expensive mask material, such as iron, if the tension forces which can be produced for pretensioning the mask in the horizontal direction are markedly higher than the hitherto produced forces. For this purpose, the outer boundaries of the shadow-mask sides which are not connected to the mask frame are implemented such that they have a curved shape and a higher strength. In this way, it is possible to produce in a direction perpendicular to the stretching direction tension forces which are higher than the hitherto produced forces.
Abstract:
A color picture tube for which a light-weight support frame for holding a shadow mask can be used and whose weight can be reduced, and a color picture tube that can be provided without requiring the use of a press mold, and a press machine for producing a shadow mask. The tension applied to the shadow mask is 5-90% of the tension (full tension) that would be applied to the shadow mask to prevent electron beams from arriving at a position that is shifted from a predetermined arrival position on the phosphor screen surface due to the thermal expansion of the shadow mask caused by absorbing thermal energy that is converted from the energy of electron beams when electron beams strike the shadow mask.
Abstract:
It is an object of the present invention to present a method for producing an electron tube capable of preventing agglomeration of particles contained in coating material to be coated on an shadow mask to form an electron beam reflecting film, that causes settling of the particles on a shadow mask or clogging of the coating system, and fluctuations of pressure for supplying the coating material to a spray nozzle, that cause unstable quantity by weight of the coating material discharged from the nozzle and excessive coating, thereby preventing deterioration of the quality of images. An electron beam reflecting film of high surface coverage can be formed for the electron tube with a small quantity by weight of the coating material containing bismuth oxide particles which have an average particle diameter D50 of 0.6 &mgr;m or less and a particle size distribution with the particles having a diameter between D40 and D60 accounting for at least 20% by volume of the total particles. This method supplies the coating material by oscillations of a piezoelectric element to the spray nozzle, or scans the nozzle just by slanting the nozzle at varying angles while keeping a head between the surface of the coating material in a coating material storage section and the nozzle center.
Abstract:
A color selecting electrode of a cathode ray tube is prevented from being twisted to thereby suppress an electron beam from a mislanding. A metal thin plate (6) having vertically striped opening portions (6a) is supported by frame members (7a), (7b) under a proper tension. The frame member (7a) welded to the metal thin plate (6) is joined with a supporting member (8) extended in the longitudinal direction and the frame member (7b) welded to the frame member (7a) is joined with a supporting member (9) extended in the direction (Z-axis direction) perpendicular to a plane formed of the frame members (7a, 7b). The supporting member (9) is fixed to substantially a central portion of the frame member (7b).
Abstract:
A substantially rectangular shadow mask is arranged opposite to a phosphor screen formed on an inner surface of a panel. The shadow mask has a mask body and a mask frame to which a peripheral portion of the mask body is attached. The shadow mask has a rectangular form having a center through which a tube axis passes, and a long axis and a short axis passing through the center and perpendicular to each other. The mask frame has a pair of long side walls extending parallel to the long axis and a pair of short side walls extending parallel to the short axis. The height of each long side wall at a central portion along the tube axis is lower than the height of each short side wall at a central portion along the tube axis.
Abstract:
A shadow mask opposing a phosphor screen includes a substantially rectangular mask body having a number of electron beam passage apertures, and a substantially rectangular mask frame having four side walls supporting a periphery of the mask body. Among the side walls, a pair of long side walls each has a central connecting portion which is located at a central portion thereof in lengthwise direction and fixed to the mask body, and a pair of protruding portions which are provided on both sides of the central connecting portion in the lengthwise direction and protrude in a direction apart from the mask body. Each protruding portion defines a gap between the side wall and the mask body, and a width of the gap gradually increases as it goes far from the central connecting portion.
