摘要： A button collet is disclosed for use with a mating tack to form a button on a garment fabric. The collet includes a cap having a dove-tail cavity, an insert member adhesively bonded in place therein, and a shank member or eyelet fixedly secured to the insert member. The insert member has a plurality of clamping lugs which are crimped around a flanged peripheral edge of the shank and a plurality of peripheral notches in spaced apart relation alternating with the clamping lugs.

摘要： A tack button assembly includes a solid, deformable button body having an anchoring socket with first and second ends. The socket extends along the longitudinal axis of the body and is adapted to retainingly receive the shank of an associated tack through the socket first end. A thin cover wall which is integral with the button closes the socket first end. The construction is such that the tack penetrates a material to which the assembly is intended to be secured before breaking through the cover wall and entering the anchoring socket. Such relationships prevent the tack from creating an enlarged hole in the material and/or causing puckering of the material. A cap member is disposed in close surrounding relation to the hub portion of the button body.

摘要： Buttons, especially for workmen's and leisure clothing include riveted to the fabric; a button thus including a male portion and a female portion. The riveting requires a hole being punched in the fabric, and the two portions of the button must be designed in such a manner that they are securely retained. By manufacturing the portions of a material having high frictional properties and shaping and selecting the dimensions of the stud of the male part and the mating bore of the female portion with a negative clearance, not only a secure retention, but also an ability of "self punching" the necessary hole in the fabric is obtained. For use with heavier fabric the female portion may be reinforced with a metal lining.

摘要： In a preferred embodiment, there is provided a plastic button having embedded in a back side of the button a flanged metal clamp defining an aperture lockably receivable of a barbed shaft of a metal tack for the mounting of the button on a sheet of material such as a shirt or blouse or the like, there being provided a plastic downwardly flanged cap of plastic fused to the button back also and the cap having a central aperture with a plastic tubular cylinder extending axially from and joined to an edge of the aperture structure into which tubular cylinder the tack mounting shaft extends therethrough upon a mounting of the button if a shank button is desired, but it being possible to merely break-off or snap-off or shear-off the shank tubular cylinder if a non-shank button is desired, and after removal of the shank therefrom mounting the button without the shank, the metal flanges being set into the body plastic from the rear or back side of the button by heat having been applied preferably by ultrasonic vibrations such that the button back plastic contacted by the flanged metal clamp melted sufficiently long for the flanged metal clamp to be pressed into the molton plastic, the invention also including the process of embedding the flanged metal clamp into the button back.

摘要： A button with a plastic shank is removably secured to a fastener bar that is sewed or riveted to a garment. The shank of the button has a transverse slit in it of the same thickness as the thickness of the fastener bar; and this slit terminates in a hole just below the head of the button which is of the same diameter as the width of the fastener bar. The button can be mounted on the fastener bar by slipping the slit in its shank over the fastener bar and then turning the button so that the bar enters and engages in the hole in the shank. To remove the button from the bar it is first turned to have the fastener bar aligned with the slit in the button shank, and then the shank is slid off the fastener bar.

THIS HOLDER IS PLACED ON THE FABRIC OF A GARMENT BY PUSHING THE SHARP POINT OF THE STEM THROUGH THE FABRIC AT A DESIRED LOCATION AND ITS CURVED PERIPHERY AIDS IN PREVENTING ITS ROTATION AS THE BASE IS PRESSED AGAINST THE FABRIC FIRMLY. THE BUTTON IS ALSO OF SINGLE UNIT CONSTRUCTION HAVING A BORE INTO WHICH THE STEM OF THE BUTTON HOLDER IS RECEIVED. THIS BORE CONTAINS A RAPIDLY DRYING MASTIC WHICH IS INSERTED AND SEALED OFF FROM THE EXTERIOR DURING MANUFACTURE OF THE BUTTON OR AT LEAST PRIOR TO THE INSTALLATION OF THE BUTTON.
