摘要: A weld-on female casing connector is disclosed having an upper threaded section and a lower cylindrical section that is welded to the casing. Located between the two sections is a connecting section that has a downwardly decreasing cross-sectional area until the cross-sectional area approaches the cross-sectional area of an ideal transition section and has a stress in the range of other high stress sections of the connector than an increasing cross-sectional area until the outside diameter of the connecting section is sufficient to provide a downwardly facing elevator shoulder of sufficient area to support the casing on an elevator.

摘要: An improved prepared joint is provided on a fitting for mechanically joining it to the end of a metal tube. The fitting has a grooved bore and a bore extending end portion for projecting the bore a predetermined distance beyond its grooved portion so that during radial expansion of the tube into the grooved portion the entire expanded length of the tube is fully supported within the fitting. Such support is effective in extending the useful life of the tube assembly formed by the fitting and tube by alleviating metal fatigue failures due to vibrational bending stresses in the expanded portion of the tube.

摘要: A method for welding of steel pipe to a pressure vessel comprising the steps of cutting an opening in the wall of the pressure vessel, joining a connection member which consists of a thickened rim or lenticularly shaped disc, aligning the disc with a bore at a right angle to a tangential plane of the outer surface of the connection member, and welding in two specific areas whereby said first weld at the rim of said forged disc to the wall of said pressure vessel has greater strength against notch breaking at the thicker portion and the second welding at the opening of the wall of said pressure vessel provides a smooth transition.

摘要: Workover operations are performed in wells having a curved circuit such as a submarine well having a radius bend at the wellhead by introducing into the conduit a segmented tubular member such as a tool and running the tubular member through said conduit solely by fluid pressure exerted thereagainst, a substantial portion of the length of the tubular member being maintained free of contact with the inner wall of the conduit to extend the life of the tubular member and reduce the pressure required to run it in.

摘要: Techniques for implementing a pipeline system that includes a pipe segment and a pipe fitting. The pipe segment includes tubing, which includes an inner barrier layer that defines a pipe bore, a reinforcement layer implemented around the inner barrier layer to define a fluid conduit, and an outer barrier layer implemented around the reinforcement layer, and a tensile clip secured to the tubing such that clip legs of the tensile clip are secured around the reinforcement layer. The pipe fitting includes electrofusion material implemented to define a fitting bore and a tubing cavity in which the tubing is to be secured and a tensile hook partially embedded within the electrofusion material such that a hook bend extends into the tubing cavity, in which the hook bend matingly interlock with a loop end of the tensile clip to facilitate transferring tensile force between the reinforcement layer and the pipe fitting.
