摘要: A quick release corrosion coupon holder system comprising a shaft and a clip configured to pivot between open and closed positions to securely hold an end of a corrosion coupon. Preferably, no nuts, bolts, or removable parts are required to install or remove a coupon from the holder. Preferably a spring is disposed between the shaft and clip with one or more attached legs or a separate pin configured to secure the clip to the shaft and act as a fulcrum. An optional inwardly extending projection may be inserted through an aperture on the coupon. An optional spacer creates a gap between the shaft and clip to accommodate the thickness of a coupon. Preferably a lip and shoulder pair on the clip and an opposing lip and shoulder pair on the shaft contact front and back surfaces of the coupon, limiting contact surface area between the holder and coupon.

摘要: An apparatus for testing corrosiveness of liquid feedstock includes a feed preparation section (A) for pre-treating the liquid feedstock; a feed treatment section (B) downstream of the feed preparation section (A) for treating the pre-treated liquid feedstock at elevated temperature; a separation section (C) downstream of the feed treatment section (B) for separating a liquid portion from a vaporous portion at a temperature lower than the elevated temperature of the feed treatment section (B); a product analysis section (D) downstream of the separation section for analysing the amount of corrosive species in the liquid portion ; and one or more corrosion coupons (1-9). The corrosion coupons (1-9) are placed into one or more of the feed preparation section (A), the feed treatment section (B), the separation section (C) or the product analysis section (D) such that the corrosion coupons are in contact with the liquid feedstock during operation.

摘要: Disclosed is a method for predicting corrosion and spontaneous combustion of sulfur-related petrochemical equipment. The method solves the issues in the existing techniques that includes narrow predicting range, high workload in installation and maintenance, and time lag in predicting corrosion and spontaneous combustion inside equipment. The method comprises a step of a dual index system prediction, which includes a step of monitoring a temperature and a step of detecting SO2 gas generated by spontaneous combustion. The time when spontaneous combustion occurs can be accurately calculated by using a fitted quantitative relationship formula generated by the spontaneous combustion of corrosion products. The method has a low Labor cost. The method has a low labor cost and, does not require on-site gas detection to be carried out by means of manual detection, which both reduces the cost and ensures the detection accuracy.

摘要: A corrosion monitoring device includes a sensor assembly and a detector circuit. The sensor assembly includes at least one sensor portion disposed in an interior of a pipe in a fire sprinkler system for sensing corrosion of a wall of the pipe. The detector circuit transmits an electrical signal through the at least one sensor portion, monitors an electrical characteristic of the at least one sensor portion based on the electrical signal, compares at least one of the monitored electrical characteristic and a change in the electrical characteristic of the at least one sensor portion to at least one of a predetermined value and a previously monitored electrical characteristic, determines a corrosion status indicative of at least one of a corrosion level and a rate of corrosion of the pipe wall based on the comparison, and outputs an indication of the corrosion status.

摘要: The present application provides an apparatus comprising a radio frequency identification (RFID) sensor comprising: an antenna configured to receive an interrogation signal from a reader and to transmit a response signal to the reader; at least one integrated circuit (IC) connected to the antenna; and at least one sensing element. The apparatus further comprises a channel for directing transmission of signals between the antenna and the reader, wherein the RFID sensor is attached or directly adjacent to a first end of the channel. The sensing element is responsive to a change induced by its environment to switch from a conductive state to a non-conductive state, or from a non-conductive state to a conductive state. The present application further provides a method for monitoring the integrity or the change in environment of a buried structure using the RFID sensor-containing apparatus.

According to embodiments, a system can include the anode rod in contact with water in a water heater, where the anode rod includes a corrodible sheath having a cavity. The system can include two electrical wires, where first ends of the two electrical wires, disposed within the cavity, are configured to come in contact with the water when the corrodible sheath of the anode rod corrodes to a certain point. The system can include a controller coupled to second ends of the two electrical wires, where the controller can detect whether the water is in contact with the first ends of the two electrical wires. The system can include an indicator to provide an indication when the water is in contact with the first ends of the two electrical wires.
