摘要: Methods, systems and devices for evaluating incoming air to an engine, industrial controller including engine controls, valves and solenoids, for concentrations of explosive or combustible gases or vapors, and actuating process control including but not limited to shutting down an engine or other industrial process to control an outcome including the prevention of an overspeed condition when pre-set or calculated elevated gas or vapor concentrations are detected. In some embodiments industrial control including engine shutdown may be achieved conventionally via an electronic kill signal, a shutdown of the fuel injector, carburetor or fuel pump, and in emergency conditions by the shutoff of incoming air to an air intake, turbocharger, or other air delivery systems. Decisions based on explosive gas or vapor concentrations and species and the use of networking to allow additional systems to take action before explosive gases or vapors reach said other valve-sensor devices can provide additional safety.

摘要: A wireless sensing device for environmental monitoring of a location is provided. The sensing device includes an electronic system and a housing for securing and protecting the electronic system in a cavity therein. The housing includes a vented top portion defining the cavity, and a wicking base portion including wicking material attached to and covering an exposed underside of the top portion. The electronic system includes: a temperature and humidity sensor for sensing a current temperature and humidity of the location and converting the sensed temperature and humidity to temperature and humidity signals; a wireless transmitter for periodically wirelessly transmitting the temperature and humidity signals from the location to an external computing device; an alerting device for providing an audible, visual, or tactile signal from the location in order to alert a user of a condition of interest; and a microcontroller for controlling the electronic system devices.

摘要: Systems and methods of preventing an event occurrence or mitigating effects of an event occurrence in an industrial facility are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a first input is received from a first sensor and, based at least in part on the first input, an initial action is automatically generated. In response to the initial action, a second input is received from a second sensor and, based at least in part of the received first and second inputs, a likelihood of an event occurrence is determined. Based at least in part of the determined likelihood, a remedial action configured to prevent the occurrence of the event occurrence is automatically generated. In some embodiments, the remedial action is generated in real-time and can be directed to a process condition, environmental condition, or secondary source.
