Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a video coding method which includes: obtaining a current picture, motion vector precision of the current picture according to the current picture, where the motion vector precision includes a search step size set, and each search step size in the search step size set is less than a pixel unit; obtaining a current block and a reference picture of the current block; determining a search start point in the reference picture, and searching, from the search start point, for a target integer pixel by using a pixel unit as a search step size; searching, from the target integer pixel, for a match block of the current block according to the motion vector precision; obtaining motion vector information and a prediction residual signal; and the reference picture, the motion vector information, and the prediction residual signal into a bitstream.

Abstract: The present invention provides a video picture coding method, a video picture decoding method, a coding device, and a decoding device. The method includes: determining a motion vector difference of an affine picture block; determining motion vector precision of the affine picture block; determining a size of an affine motion compensation picture subblock in the affine picture block according to the motion vector difference, the motion vector precision, and a distance between control points in the affine picture block, where the control points are pixels used to determine the motion vector difference; and performing coding processing on the affine picture block according to the size of the affine motion compensation picture subblock. In this way, a picture subblock of an appropriate size is selected, so that coding complexity can be reduced, and coding efficiency can be improved.

Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides an image coding method, where the coding method includes: performing predictive coding on an image; performing transform coding on the image on which the predictive coding has been performed; performing, by using a quantization matrix, quantization coding on the image on which the transform coding has been performed, where the quantization matrix is a matrix reflecting image quantization step information, the quantization matrix includes an M*N quantization matrix and an N*M quantization matrix, and the N*M quantization matrix is obtained by transposing the M*N quantization matrix; and performing entropy coding on the image on which the quantization coding has been performed, and coding the M*N quantization matrix, so as to generate a code stream. In the present invention, the number of bits required for coding a quantization matrix is effectively saved, thereby improving compression efficiency.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to moving picture processing, and in particular, to cases where non-rectangular partitioning modes are used for inter-prediction in a combination with weighted prediction (WP) for coding fades. Non-rectangular modes refer to those inter-prediction modes, in which case a current block is partitioned/sliced in a non-rectangular way (slices). Such modes may be triangular (TMP) or geometric (GEO) prediction. The aim of the disclosure is to harmonize non-rectangular partitioning modes with WP by way of disabling TMP/GEO when WP is applied. This may be accomplished by checking whether all reference pictures for a current slice are disabled, and if this is the case to disable the slice-level WP for non-rectangular prediction units. Whether the reference pictures are disabled may be determined based on conditions applied on set values, for example, of luma/chroma flags, which refer to the reference pictures.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an apparatus, an encoder, a decoder and corresponding methods for prediction refinement with optical flow (PROF) for an affine coded block, in which when a plurality of optical flow decision conditions are fulfilled for the affine coded block, performing a PROF process for a current sub-block of the affine coded block to obtain refined prediction sample values of the current sub-block of the affine coded block. After the sub-block based affine motion compensation is performed, a prediction sample value of the current sample of the current sub-block is refined by adding a delta prediction value. Thus, it allows for a better trade-off between coding complexity and prediction accuracy.
