摘要: An image encoding/decoding method and apparatus are provided. An image decoding method performed by an image decoding apparatus may comprise determining prediction mode characteristic information based on a color format of a current block, determining a prediction mode type of a lower-layer block split from the current block based on the prediction mode characteristic information, obtaining the lower-layer block by splitting the current block based on the prediction mode type of the lower-layer block, and decoding the lower-layer block based on the prediction mode type of the lower-layer block. The prediction mode type of the lower-layer block comprises a first prediction mode type specifying that both an intra prediction mode and an inter prediction mode are available, a second prediction mode type specifying that only the intra prediction mode is available and a third prediction mode type specifying that only the inter prediction mode is available. Based on a first condition for the current block being satisfied, the prediction mode characteristic information has a first value, and the first condition comprises a case where a color format of the current block is a monochrome format or a 4:4:4 format. Based on the first condition for the current block being not satisfied, the prediction mode characteristic information has a second value or a third value based on at least one of a color format, split mode or size of the current block.

摘要: Methods are provided for inter-prediction candidate index coding independent of the construction of the corresponding inter-prediction candidate list, i.e., a merging candidate list or an advanced motion vector predictor list. A maximum allowed number of inter-prediction candidates for an inter-prediction candidate list is used for encoding the inter-prediction candidate index in an encoded bit stream. The maximum allowed number may be pre-determined or may be selected by the encoder and encoded in the bit stream. A decoder may then decode the index using the maximum allowed number of inter-prediction candidates independent of the construction of the corresponding inter-prediction candidate list.

摘要: Approaches to selection of motion vector (“MV”) precision during video encoding are presented. These approaches can facilitate compression that is effective in terms of rate-distortion performance and/or computational efficiency. For example, a video encoder determines an MV precision for a unit of video from among multiple MV precisions, which include one or more fractional-sample MV precisions and integer-sample MV precision. The video encoder can identify a set of MV values having a fractional-sample MV precision, then select the MV precision for the unit based at least in part on prevalence of MV values (within the set) having a fractional part of zero. Or, the video encoder can perform rate-distortion analysis, where the rate-distortion analysis is biased towards the integer-sample MV precision. Or, the video encoder can collect information about the video and select the MV precision for the unit based at least in part on the collected information.

摘要: An image encoding method and an image decoding method are provided. The image decoding method includes deriving a temporal merge candidate from a co-located block of a current block, generating a merge candidate list of the current block based on the derived temporal merge candidate, and generating a prediction block of the current block based on the generated merge candidate list. The deriving a temporal merge candidate includes scaling a motion vector derived from the co-located block based on a POC difference value between the current block and a reference picture of the current block and a POC difference value between the co-located block and a reference picture of the co-located block, and modifying the scaled motion vector based on motion vector scaling information between a neighboring block of the current block and a co-located block of the neighboring block.

摘要: A method and a device for encoding and decoding infra prediction are disclosed. An image decoding method for performing intra prediction comprises the steps of: receiving a bitstream including data on prediction modes of a current block and a block adjacent to the current block; extracting the data from the received bitstream so as to confirm the prediction mode of the adjacent block; determining whether a boundary pixel within the adjacent block can be used as a reference pixel for the current block in consideration of the prediction mode of the adjacent block; obtaining the reference pixel of the current block according to the determined result; generating a prediction block predicted in the frame on the basis of the obtained reference pixel; and decoding the current block by using the generated prediction block.

The method includes coding one or more first flags in a sequence parameter set (SPS) of a bitstream, and coding at least one second flag in the SPS if one or more coding modes are enabled for a video sequence associated with the SPS. The one or more first flags indicate whether the one or more coding modes are enabled for the video sequence. The at least one second flag indicates whether a multi-level control is activated for the one or more coding modes.
