Abstract: According to some examples, a base station may allocate uplink and/or downlink resources (e.g., in the time domain, frequency domain, spatial domain) to user equipment (UEs), or groups of UEs, that may be subsequently reallocated. For example, a base station may determine a reallocation of uplink resources, and may issue a preemption indication (e.g., a cancelation indication) that may correspond to at least a portion of a random access resource. UEs may be configured to monitor for preemption indications and, based on received preemption indications, UEs may determine whether or not to proceed with transmission of a random access message using a random access resource that at least partially overlaps with resources indicated by the preemption indication. For example, a UE may transmit, or preempt transmission of, a random access message based on a preemption configuration of the UE (e.g., configured rules for UE preemption of random access resources).

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) and a base station may use low latency communications to improve the throughput of a wireless link. To facilitate efficient low latency communication, the UE may send UE-initiated CSI reports in addition to periodic and base station-initiated reports. For example, the UE may, in various examples, send UE-initiated CSI reports using contention based spectrum, using a request-to-transmit, or using a CSI differential (i.e., an indicator of a change in channel conditions). The base station may schedule different UEs for uplink low latency communication by providing resources to each UE for CSI and scheduling requests (SRs) using coherent or non-coherent uplink transmissions. The CSI and SR may also be combined with uplink feedback.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A first method includes generating uplink control information at a wireless device, and transmitting the uplink control information over an interlace of a component carrier of an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band. The interlace includes a plurality of non-contiguous concurrent resource blocks in the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band, and at least two resource blocks in the interlace include different portions of the uplink control information. A second method includes generating uplink control information at a wireless device, and transmitting the uplink control information over an uplink control channel of an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band. Resources of the uplink control channel are divided into a plurality of discrete dimensions and the uplink control information of the wireless device is transmitted over a number of the discrete dimensions allocated to the uplink control information of the wireless device.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for assisting a user equipment (UE) with balancing quality of service (QoS) requirements (such as access latency or reliability requirements) and consumption of high priority network resources (such as for load balancing) when transmitting a random access message (RAM) in a two-step random access channel (RACH) procedure. Abstract: Comb adaptation for interlaced frequency division multiplex (IFDM) demodulation reference signals (DMRS) is discussed. Transmission configuration for DMRS may be assigned to UEs with a coded combination of cyclic shift, OCC, and comb value. Some assigned combinations provide for a different comb value to be used for the different slots in the same subframe. Further aspects provide additional interference randomization through comb shifting, using inter-subframe hopping functions. Additionally, where retransmissions are present without uplink grant, the UE may select comb values for retransmissions based on the counter number for the retransmissions, which are different than the comb values used for the original DMRS transmissions.
