Abstract:
Disclosed is a mobile telecommunication system in which packet data is transmitted over an uplink, and particularly a method and an apparatus for transmitting control information from a UE to a Node B. By multiplexing, several upper layer data units and MAC layer control information are included in a packet which the UE transmits during one transmission period in the uplink. A header of the packet accommodates multiplexing information, and thus the Node B uses the multiplexing information for demultiplexing upper layer data units from the packet. When the packet accommodates only the MAC layer control information, the UE does not insert the header into the packet, thereby reducing the packet size. The Node B then determines whether the packet includes only the control information or the upper layer data units together with the header.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for notifying a UE of the PFLs of MBMS services in a new cell when the UE moves from an old cell to a new cell in a CELL_DCH state in the case of FLC are provided. An SRNC informs the UE of the PFLs of UE-joined MBMS services in the new cell. If the new cell is managed by a DRNC, the DRNC informs the SRNC of the PFLs of the UE-joined MBMS services and the SRNC transmits the PFL information to the UE so that the UE can move to a corresponding PFL.
Abstract:
A paging method for an MBMS service is provided. To efficiently transmit MBMS control information in an MBMS mobile communication system, an RNC transmits to a Node B a control message including a list of NI information for MBMS paging groups by the RNC and the Node B establishes a physical channel according to the control message and transmits an MICH including NIs to UEs on the established physical channel.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for efficiently processing a voice packet in a mobile communication system. Upon receiving information related to a type of a voice frame of an adaptive multi-rate (AMR) codec and information related to an operation mode of the AMR codec from a core network, a radio network controller (RNC) classifies a voice packet received from the core network into three classes according to the received information. The RNC sets up transport channels such that the classified three classes independently undergo error protection and error detection according to their priority.
Abstract:
A method for paging a UE (User Equipment) over a dedicated channel in a mobile communication system for supporting a Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS). The paging method can indicate the presence or absence of control information associated with the MBMS during a call-connection mode established over a dedicated channel in a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) communication system. If a Serving Radio Network Controller (SRNC) for supporting the MBMS recognizes the beginning of the MBMS in which the UE is joined, it requests from a transmission mode needed for the MBMS from one or more CRNCs (Control Radio Network Controllers) controlling a plurality of cells communicating with the UE, such that it acquires MBMS control channel (MCCH) information including control information for supporting the MBMS. Then, the SRNC transmits a paging message including the MCCH information to the UE over a dedicated channel.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a channel allocation method in a CDMA communication system. The method comprises receiving from a UTRAN one SF node CSF,k out of 2m−1 SF nodes (where m is an integer larger than 3) arranged in the form of a tree having a mother node and child nodes; searching a group including the received SF node CSF,k in accordance with Formula (1) below; spreading a signal on a dedicated physical data channel (DPDCH) with an OVSF code corresponding to a selected one of the received SF node and its child nodes in the searched group; and spreading a signal on a dedicated physical control channel (DPCCH) with an OVSF code corresponding to an SF node determined by Formula (2) below based on the received SF node. For SF ≤ 2 m - 1 4 , ( P 1 · SF , P 1 · k ) = ( 2 m - 1 4 , n ) For SF > 2 m - 1 4 , ( P 2 · 2 m - 1 4 , P 2 · n ) = ( SF , k ) where , P 1 = 2 m - 1 4 · SF and P 2 = 4 · SF 2 m - 1 . Formula (1) F ( C 2 m - 1 4 · k ) = C 2 m - 1 2 m - 1 - k - 1 ( k = 0 , 1 , … ) F ( C 2 m - 1 4 · k ) = C 2 m - 1 , 2 m - 1 - ( k - 32 ) ( k = 0 , 1 , … ) . Formula (2)
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving MBMS control information in an MBMS mobile communication system are provided. An RNC transmits MBMS control information for an MBMS service on an MCCH mapped to one of a plurality of CCPCHs available in a cell of the mobile communication system, and transmits a paging message on a logical channel mapped to each of the CCPCHs. Here, the paging message requests reception of the MBMS control information. A UE monitors one of the plurality of the CCPCHs, receives the paging message on the monitored CCPCH, switches to the CCPCH having the MCCH, and receives the MBMS control information on the switched to CCPCH. Therefore, resource consumption is minimized in transmitting MBMS control information in a cell and the reception reliability of the MBMS control information in the UE is increased.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for generating a Short Term Key Message (STKM) for protection of a broadcast service being broadcasted to a terminal in a mobile broadcast system. The method includes transmitting, by a Broadcast Service Subscription Management (BSM) for managing subscription information, at least one key information for authentication of the broadcast service to a Broadcast Service Distribution/Adaptation (BSD/A) for transmitting the broadcast service, generating, by the BSD/A, a Traffic Encryption Key (TEK) for deciphering of the broadcast service in the terminal and inserting the TEK into a partially created STKM, and performing, by the BSD/A, Message Authentication Code (MAC) processing on the TEK-inserted STKM using the at least one key information, thereby generating a completed STKM.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for managing tokens for Digital Rights Management (DRM) in a terminal are provided. In the method, at least one token is acquired from a Rights Issuer (RI), and the token is moved to a Secure Removable Media (SRM) through a token move request message. The token can be shared by several terminals.
