Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for supporting switching between point to point and point to multipoint delivery with service continuity for broadcast and multicast services in a wireless communication system. A cellular base station and a wireless device may establish a wireless link. The cellular base station may provide information configuring an over the air delivery type with which to receive a broadcast or multicast service, which may be received by the wireless device. The cellular base station may transmit the service using the configured delivery type, and the wireless device may correspondingly receive the service. The cellular base station may provide information configuring the wireless device to switch to a different over the air delivery type, with service continuity. The cellular base station may then transmit the service using that delivery type, and the wireless device may correspondingly receive the service.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for handling timing alignment for configured grant based small data transmissions in inactive mode in a wireless communication system. A wireless device may establish a radio resource control connection with a cellular base station. The wireless device may receive an indication to release the radio resource control connection. The indication to release the radio resource control connection may configure resources for performing uplink transmissions while in the radio resource control inactive mode. A timing advance may be maintained while in the radio resource control inactive mode. An uplink transmission may be performed using resources configured for performing uplink transmissions while in the radio resource control inactive mode. The uplink transmission may be performed using the timing advance.

A wireless device may establish a wireless link with a cellular network. The wireless device may receive MPTCP proxy information for a MPTCP proxy comprised in the cellular network from the core network entity. The MPTCP proxy information may include MPTCP server IP address and port information. The wireless device may establish a first MPTCP flow with the MPTCP proxy comprised in the cellular network via the wireless link.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for a link budget limited UE to improve communications performance with a cellular network. The UE may perform signal to interference noise ratio (SINR) measurements and use these measurements to adjust a received signal power value that is provided to the cellular network as a received signal power measurement. The UE may generate the received signal power value based at least in part on the SINR measurement in order to reduce the likelihood of handover when the UE has good SINR but poor received signal power. The UE may also provide preferred configuration information to the base station which enhances the performance of the UE when link budget limited. The configuration information may specify one or more parameter values designed to provide improved performance for a link budget limited device.

According to some embodiments, the base station may monitor upcoming traffic with the wireless device. The command may further indicate to the wireless device a number of C-DRX cycles through which to remain in a low power state.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for modifying connected mode discontinuous reception (C-DRX) cycle length based on mobility and signal conditions. According to some embodiments, a wireless device may establish a radio resource control connection with a base station providing a cell of a cellular network. A C-DRX configuration may be established with the base station, including selecting a C-DRX cycle length. One or more conditions configured to trigger the wireless device to request C-DRX reconfiguration may be detected. The one or more conditions may be based on mobility and/or signal conditions of the wireless device. A request for C-DRX reconfiguration to the base station may be transmitted based on detecting the one or more conditions. C-DRX with the base station may be re-configured based on the request for C-DRX reconfiguration.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for UEs to improve reception of push notifications via a cellular network. A UE may be configured to provide, to a push notification service, preference information for push notifications associated with an application. The preference information may indicate a preferred period of delivery for the push notifications. When the push notification service receives a push notification addressed to the UE, the push notification service includes the preference information when notifying the cellular network. The cellular network provides a page to the UE, including the preference information. Based on the preference information in the page, the UE may decide whether, and in some scenarios how long, to delay before establishing a connection to receive the available push notification. The network, having access to the preference information, may accommodate the delay.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to broadcasting and receiving system information in a radio access network (RAN). In one embodiment, a base station includes at least one antenna, at least one radio, configured to perform cellular communication using a radio access technology (RAT), and one or more processors coupled to the radio. In this embodiment, the base station is configured to broadcast first system information blocks (SIBs) encoded using a first coding rate and a first identifier. In this embodiment, the base station is also configured to broadcast second SIBs encoded using a second coding rate that is lower than the first coding rate and a second identifier. In this embodiment, the second SIBs include only a portion of the information included in the first SIBs and the second SIBs are usable by user equipment devices (UEs) having a limited link budget to determine access parameters for the base station.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods to enhance radio link performance in a multi-carrier environment. A method may comprise sending, by an upper level layer of a wireless device, user data in a packet for transmission, wherein the packet includes an indication of a level of priority of the packet, receiving, by a media access control (“MAC”) layer of the wireless device, the packet for transmission including the indication of the level of priority provided by the upper level layer, identifying, by the MAC layer, a reliability of each of a plurality of component carriers, and selecting, by the MAC layer, one of the component carriers on which to transmit the packet, wherein the selecting is based on the level of priority of the packet and the reliability of the one of the component carriers.
