Abstract:
An improved image transmission apparatus capable of reducing the amount of work involved in the checking and transmission operations performed by the user at the time of image data transmission, the apparatus including an address accept unit that accepts input of a first address and a second address, a reader that reads an original document to obtain data pertaining thereto, a first transmission unit that sends original document data obtained by the reader to the first address, a receiving unit that receives a reply from the first address responding to the transmission by the first transmission unit, and a second transmission unit that sends the original document data to the second address when the receiving unit receives from the first address a reply indicating acceptability of the original document data.
Abstract:
To provide a technology enabling a terminal device to use various functions provided in a data processing device without the use of a device driver. A multifunction device executes a process for implementing a function indicated by instruction data when such instruction data is stored in a shared area of the RAM. Here, the shared area of the RAM in which the instruction data is stored can be recognized by a personal computer connected to the multifunction device as a storage area that can be accessed through the file system, which is a function provided as a standard feature of the operating system. Accordingly, operations of the multifunction device can be controlled from the personal computer end simply by storing instruction data in the shared area via the operating system, eliminating the need for a special device driver to control the operations of the multifunction device.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present invention relate to systems, methods and devices for providing remote file structure data access to an imaging device user interface. Some aspects relate to methods and systems wherein a request for file structure data is sent from an imaging device (IDev) to a remote computing device (RCD) that is capable of retrieving and converting file structure data. Some aspects relate to reading the file structure data of a remote resource and converting that file structure data to a format that is compatible with an IDev user interface (UI). The converted file structure data may then be received by the IDev and displayed at the IDev UI.
Abstract:
In a printing system in which a digital camera (DSC) and PD printer apparatus are directly connected via a USB, and image data is transmitted from the DSC to the PD printer apparatus and printed, Capability of the PD printer apparatus is transmitted from the PD printer apparatus to the DSC after communication procedures are established by an application (NCDP) installed in the PD printer apparatus and DSC. The PD printer apparatus is caused to execute print operation in accordance with print conditions set by the DSC on the basis of the transmitted Capability.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present invention relate to systems, methods and devices for modifying and managing form documents with an application that receives input from an imaging device user interface and from other sources. Some aspects relate to an input field definition file that obtained or generated at a device that is remote to the imaging device and which comprises display parameters and UI options for prompting a user for field input and as well as instructions for obtaining field data from other sources.
Abstract:
In a printing system in which a digital camera (DSC) and photo-direct (PD) printer apparatus are directly connected via a USB, and image data is transmitted from the DSC to the PD printer apparatus and printed, Capability of the PD printer apparatus is transmitted from the PD printer apparatus to the DSC after communication procedures are established by an application New Camera Direct Print (NCDP) installed in the PD printer apparatus and DSC. The PD printer apparatus is caused to execute a print operation in accordance with print conditions set by the DSC on the basis of the transmitted Capability.
Abstract:
A multifunction peripheral 1 of the present invention includes an image data storage section 16 for storing image data received by a first communication section 14 or a modem 15, the first communication section 14 for transmitting reception information including sender's information of the image data to an information processor 2, and a sections control section for causing, according to control information transmitted from the information processor 2, a predetermined process to be executed on the image data stored in the image data storage section 16.
Abstract:
A network system enables a common setting information item and different setting information items on a plurality of network devices to be displayed, and collectively configured and edited on a Web browser on a PC. The device controller accesses a network device to acquire and display setting information on network devices. The accessed network device collects setting information from the other network devices via a network in response to the access from the device controller, generates one HTML file based on the collected setting information, and transmits the HTML file to the device controller. The setting information configured or edited on the device controller is broken up into respective sets of setting information on the network devices, and is transmitted to the other network devices as HTML files, to cause the setting information to be reflected thereon.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, an image forming device system includes a client terminal connected to a network, a plurality of image forming devices that are connected to the network and can perform printing in response to a request for printing from the client terminal, and a device selection unit that selects the image forming device according to desired printing conditions, including a time after an image stabilization process, input from the client terminal or one of the image forming devices when there is a request for printing from the client terminal.
Abstract:
A method and system for automatically configuring a hand-held electronic device for accessing a site on a public network is disclosed. The method and system include establishing a connection to a website server, which is responsible for establishing and maintaining website accounts, and sending information uniquely identifying the electronic device to the website server. The server then sends user account information to the device, including an account ID and password, created based on the electronic device information. The user account information is then stored on electronic device for use the next time the electronic device accesses the website, whereby the user does not have to enter account information in order to establish the ISP connection or the website account before accessing the public network.
