Abstract: An ozonizer is disclosed, having a first electrode and a second electrode between which a discharge gap is formed, a dielectric being arranged between the first electrode and the second electrode. The dielectric comprises a support element made of glass or glass ceramic, onto which a thin dielectric film on the order of up to 100 &mgr;m is applied. The use of glass or glass ceramic as the dielectric, in conjunction with an additional thin ceramic dielectric film, allows a considerable improvement in the ozone concentration in the carrier gas, simultaneously with a good ozone yield.

The process allows the selective breaking of chemical bonds in a molecule by use of fast rise alternating current or fast rise pulsed direct current, each fast rise portion being selected to have a suitable voltage and frequency to break a selected chemical bond in a molecule. Abstract: The present invention relates to an ozone generator comprised of a discharge means and a reflecting screen. The discharge means comprises a rough-surfaced dielectric element with central aperture and rectangular cross-section sandwiched between a first electrode and a second electrode. The first electrode is comprised of a plurality of helical windings that contact a plurality of flanges on the dielectric element and the second electrode is comprised of an electrically conductive coating which overlies the rough surface of the dielectric element. The first electrode is aligned with respect to the central aperture, dielectric element, and the second electrode such that a constant distance of separation between the electrodes is maintained along the entire length of the discharge means. The reflecting screen, joined to the discharge means by a plurality of mounting brackets, directs accumulated ozone away from the ozone generator and toward an intended site for treatment. The disclosed invention converts oxygen to ozone with great efficiency and, unexpectedly, the fusion of the second electrode with the surface of the dielectric element provides improved ozone recovery by rapidly dissipating heat generated by the discharge means.

Abstract: This device is a gas ionization device which can also be referred to as a corona discharge type of ozone generator. The design is tubular comprised of an inner and outer concentric metal electrode and ground plane with a glass dielectric tube disposed between them. Gas is passed between the dielectric and the ground plane for the purpose of producing concentrations of ozone. The electrode as well as the ground plane are designed to permit cooling of the ozone producing chamber. An electro-static field enhancing technique effectively produces a significant greater amount of ozone as a result.

Abstract: An air treating apparatus and method therefor is disclosed that can be used in spaces occupied by humans or other mammals for deodorizing the air with ozone while the humans or other mammals are present. A housing having an air inlet and an air outlet defining an air flow passageway therebetween has a fan in the inlet for drawing air through the passageway and discharging the air through the outlet. The housing contains a transformer for supplying high voltage electrical power to an ozone generator in the air passageway for enriching the air in ozone and discharging a mixture of ozone in the air at a predetermined concentration. A potentiometer controls a timer for controlling the interval over which ozone is produced in an "on/off" manner. The time averaged concentration of ozone thereby is controlled so that exposure to ozone does not exceed established limits over time.
