Abstract:
To provide a technology enabling a terminal device to use various functions provided in a data processing device without the use of a device driver. A multifunction device executes a process for implementing a function indicated by instruction data when such instruction data is stored in a shared area of the RAM. Here, the shared area of the RAM in which the instruction data is stored can be recognized by a personal computer connected to the multifunction device as a storage area that can be accessed through the file system, which is a function provided as a standard feature of the operating system. Accordingly, operations of the multifunction device can be controlled from the personal computer end simply by storing instruction data in the shared area via the operating system, eliminating the need for a special device driver to control the operations of the multifunction device.
Abstract:
A management apparatus transmits a reservation request for specifying time for turning off power supply of an image processing apparatus in response to determination that current time is in a time period for turning off the power supply of image processing apparatus if a start-up request is received from the image processing apparatus, transmits a start-up response for permitting start-up of functions other than a communication function provided in the image processing apparatus when a reservation response, to the reservation request from the image processing apparatus, including specified time for turning off the power supply of the image processing apparatus is received, and transmits a command for turning off the power supply of the image processing apparatus at the time specified by the reservation response, to the image processing apparatus.
Abstract:
A visual-based contactless communication device adapted to communicate with one or more visual-based contactless devices includes a photographic device for photographing image data displayed by one or more visual-based contactless communication devices; a center control device for identifying predetermined information in the image data, producing response information according to the predetermined information and generating effective image data identifiable by one or more visual-based contactless communication devices according to the response information or specified information; and a display device for displaying the effective image data to be photographed by one or more visual-based contactless communication devices; wherein when two visual-based contactless communication devices communicate with each other, one displays the effective image data with the response information after identifying the predetermined information, and the other proceeds with subsequent communication only after identifying the effective image with the response information and confirming that the response information is recognized.
Abstract:
A method for transferring image data to be transferred is switched depending on whether print setting is performed to image data transferred from a data processing apparatus. The the control method includes performing print setting to image data to be transferred to the image forming apparatus, determining whether the print setting is performed to the image data according as the data processing apparatus becomes communicable with the image forming apparatus, and controlling the data processing apparatus to transmit the image data and the print setting to the image forming apparatus in a case where it is determined that the print setting is performed, and transmit the image data to be printed according to the print setting set by the image forming apparatus to the image forming apparatus in a case where it is determined that the print setting is not performed.
Abstract:
An image transmitting apparatus receives a first reading condition relating to an image from an external apparatus via a network. The image transmitting apparatus compares the first reading condition with a pre-set second reading condition, if the two conditions are different, decides one of the first reading condition and the second reading condition as a reading condition when selecting an image data to be transmitted to the external device. The image transmitting apparatus selects an image data that matches with the reading condition, and sends the selected image data to the external apparatus.
Abstract:
An image display system for reading and displaying an image includes an image display device and a scanner device that is connected to the image display device through a network. The image display device, when receiving instructions to read and display an image mounted on the scanner device from a user, specifies a predetermined reserved file name and transmits a file reading request to the scanner device. The scanner device, when receiving the file reading request, reads the image and transmits image data acquired by reading to the image display device using the reserved file name and makes the image display device display the image data.

Abstract:
The object of the present invention is to provide a digital camera capable of deciding display form of the multi-display optimally suited an external monitor on the basis of detecting pixel information of the external monitor connected to the digital camera. In one aspect of the present invention, a digital camera includes a memory that stores a plurality of image frames, a display that shows an image frame, an output means that outputs image data to an electric instrument, a multi-display forming means that shows simultaneously a plurality of image frames stored in the memory, an image selection means that selects a given image frame among the plurality of image frames of the multi-display shown on the display, and a controller that controls such that when the multi-display is shown on the display, only the given image data selected by the image selection means is output from the output means.
Abstract:
Systems and methods consistent with embodiments of the present invention provide a method for the configuration of peripheral devices. In some methods for configuring peripheral devices, configuration options available for a peripheral device are enumerated and listed as files associated with a virtual drive representing the peripheral device. In some embodiments the files may be given descriptive names related to the configuration options they represent. In some embodiments, icons in a user window may denote the virtual drive, and its associated files and folders. In some methods for configuring peripheral devices, when the icon for a file associated with the virtual drive is dragged onto the icon for the virtual drive, the configuration of the scanning device associated with the virtual drive is automatically changed to match the configuration associated with the file.
Abstract:
