Abstract: The present invention pertains to: a marker composition for diagnosing atherosclerosis severity; a composition for diagnosing atherosclerosis severity; an atherosclerosis severity diagnosis kit including the composition; a method for screening substances for preventing or treating atherosclerosis; and a method for providing information about a diagnosis of atherosclerosis severity, wherein LGI3 expression or activity levels are used. According to the present invention, the severity of atherosclerosis can be diagnosed or predicted, and personalized medicine and predictive medicine can be practiced using such information. Moreover, the present invention can treat atherosclerosis without affecting other metabolic phenotypes by administering an LGI3 antagonist.

Abstract: Image decoding of decoding a sequence of coded pictures on a block-by-block basis is provided. The image decoding incudes decoding a first high-level syntax element from a bitstream to determine, at a sequence level, whether affine motion prediction is allowed. A second high-level syntax element is extracted for each of at least one coding tool from the bitstream depending on the first high-level syntax element. At a picture level, the method determines whether each of the at least one coding tool is allowed. The coding tool includes sample-by-sample adjustment of affine motion prediction samples.

Abstract: A video decoding apparatus is provided for decoding pictures using inter-prediction. The video decoding apparatus includes a predictor that generates affine prediction samples for respective subblocks in a target block in a current picture to be decoded by performing affine motion prediction on a subblock-by-subblock basis using control point motion vectors which respectively correspond to corners of the target block. The predictor also modifies sample values of the affine prediction samples by executing a first coding tool, the first coding tool compensating for motion according to sample positions in each of the subblocks using the control point motion vectors.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for differentiating motor neurons from tonsil-derived mesenchymal stem cells, and a cell therapy agent using the same. The differentiation method of the present disclosure exhibits high differentiation potency into motor neurons, and thus enables a large quantity of motor neurons to be secured. Since the cells which are differentiated according to the present disclosure are obtained using discarded tonsillar tissues, there are fewer ethical issues. In addition, the cells are highly applicable as a cell therapy agent because they can be obtained easily in large quantities.

Abstract: The present invention provides facile and accurate molecular diagnosis of disease-specific genes capable of the naked eye detection through amplifying the target genes to selectively block the fluid path in a microfluidic device. Specifically, the present invention includes an isothermal amplification of target genes through a rolling circle amplification, a microfluidic device for detecting pathogen genes, and a detection method using the same. Therefore, the present invention can conveniently detect a single target gene, such as a single pathogen, or at the same time, several target genes, such as several pathogens, without complicated mechanical equipment.
