Abstract:
A system to identify database triggers in a data processing system. A request is received to create a database monitor for a specific application event and in response to receiving the request to create the database monitor, the database monitor is created. Then, a request is received to monitor the specific application event within a database and in response to receiving the request to monitor the specific application event, a replicate database of the database is created. Subsequently, the database is compared to the replicate database after the specific application event occurs to identify changes in the database associated with the specific application event. A best candidate is identified for a database trigger based upon the identified changes in the database associated with the specific application event.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for electronically tracking the progress of teams as they cover an assigned geographic area are described herein. A server computer establishes a coverage area, divides the coverage area into a plurality of regions, and assigns each region to a team. Each team carries a tracking device capable of autonomously determining its present location without user assistance, thus allowing the team to focus on the assigned task, such as searching for a missing person, plowing a field, paving a road, etc. The server monitors the location of each tracking device as each team covers its assigned region, and updates on a visually displayed geographic map a historical path associated with each tracking device based on the monitored location of each tracking device. In this manner, users can quickly view the visual depiction of the historical to determine as yet uncovered areas.
Abstract:
A method of providing troubleshooting services to a set top box (STB) coupled to a television, the STB coupled to an internet protocol television (IPTV) network. The method includes operating a network element as a troubleshooting terminal server, the network element being part of a communications network. Real time STB status information indicating the current status of the STB is received. A request from the STB for troubleshooting information is received. A troubleshooting server coupled to the communications network is accessed. The troubleshooting server executes a troubleshooting process to interact with the STB. Troubleshooting information is provided to the STB.
Abstract:
A method of providing set up services to customer premise equipment (CPE), the CPE coupled to an internet protocol television (IPTV) network. The method includes operating a network element as a set up terminal server, the network element being part of a communications network. A request to initiate a set up process is received from the CPE. A set up server coupled to the communications network is accessed to initiate a set up application. The set up server communicates with the CPE through the network element to perform installation of the CPE and provisioning of the CPE.
Abstract:
A system and method provided for limiting access to directory information in a hosted, shared access environment. In situations where a third party provides hosting on a network server of services, such as e-mail, multiple third party entities may be given access to the same directory. In this situation it may be desirable to limit access to certain portions of the directory so that one entity cannot view address information for another entity. Each entry in the directory may include a form and each form may be modified to include an additional field. The additional field may be employed to associate hierarchal information with the particular entry. Access to certain views of the directory may be then restricted and access provided to other views which include modified selection criteria. Upon access to the directory, a filtering process may be performed whereby only entries in the directory which include the same hierarchal information are employed when building a view of the directory.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to compositions and method to lower the plasma concentration of a low density lipoprotein in a human. One aspect is the invention is directed to compositions comprising at least one pharmaceutically acceptable L-carnitine compound and at least one pharmaceutically acceptable niacin compound, in such amount as to reduce the concentration of a low density lipoprotein. Another embodiment is directed to a composition of L-carnitine and niacin that substantially reduces side-effects associated with niacin treatment. Another aspect of the invention relates to a method for treating hyperlipidemia while substantially reducing side-effects associated with niacin treatment by administering a composition of L-carnitine and niacin.
Abstract:
A container (100) generally includes an outer shell (102, 108), wherein at least a portion of the outer shell includes a moisture-resistant barrier (902). The container further includes at least one insulating member (104, 106) disposed within the outer shell and having a cellulose-based substrate substantially encapsulated in a polymeric film.
Abstract:
The invention generally relates to an integrated head up displaying (HUD) device including a housing that houses an active-matrix image projecting system and its accompanying electronics, and an optical combiner (for providing a see-through image thereon) connected to the housing via a retractable arm attached at one end to the main body and holds the HUD optical panel at its other end. In particular, the telescopically retractable arm allows the assembly to extend or retract for a desirable combiner height. Further, the LED backlighting array is placed within a reflective light chamber which is lined with a safe, light-weight, low cost, specular, reflective sheet for high reflectivity. The non-conductive, reflective sheet also covers the LED printed circuit board.
Abstract:
Systems and methods of integrating plasma waste processing are described. An integreted energy generation system provided with a fossil fuel power plant system having a combustion chamber and a plasma waste processing system having an output. The integrated energy generation system also including an integrator for combining the output of thermal energy from the plasma waste processing system with the combustion chamber of the fossil fuel power plant.
