摘要: The present invention is directed to additives for coal-fired furnaces, particularly furnaces using a layer of slag to capture coal particles for combustion. The additive(s) include iron, mineralizer(s), handling aid(s), flow aid(s), and/or abrasive material(s). The iron and mineralizers can lower the melting temperature of ash in low-iron, high alkali coals, leading to improved furnace performance.

摘要: A method and apparatus for treatment of unburnts utilizing oxygen carrier particles, which may be CLOU particles, oxidized in an air reactor and transmitted to a post oxidation reactor as shown in FIG. 2. A flue gas stream containing unburnts is injected into post oxidation reactor wherein unburnts are oxidized by oxygen supplied by oxygen carriers. Reduced oxygen carriers are separated from post oxidation reactor and transmitted back to air reactor for re-oxidation. An embodiment may include a post oxidation chamber, which may be catalytic, receiving a portion of flue gas stream and oxygen from a flue gas stream of post oxidation reactor.

摘要: A steam generator for a power plant sub-system, having at least one evaporator tube through which a flow medium can flow, as well as a number of heat exchanger surfaces formed by the surface of the evaporator tube, wherein at least parts of the/each heat exchanger surface are provided with a catalytically active coating for the exothermic decomposition of hydrocarbons. By means of the catalytic coating of the heat exchanger surfaces of the evaporator tubes, an increased heat requirement calculation can be carried out, without also having to accept the formation of unwanted harmful substances inside the steam generator.

摘要: Provided is a heat-collecting-type power generation system capable of maintaining a stable power generation efficiency even if supplied heat varies. The system includes an evaporator that heats and vaporizes a working medium; a displacement-type expander driven by the vaporized working medium; a power generator driven together with the expander; a condenser that cools and condenses the gas-phase working medium sent from the expander; and a circulation pump that draws the condensed liquid-phase working medium, raises pressure and transports the same to the evaporator, wherein the expander includes a plurality of expansion parts that expand the working medium stepwise, and internal volume ratios of the expansion parts are adjusted in a design phase, so that if at least one of a suction pressure and a discharge pressure of the expander varies, an overall thermal insulation efficiency is 70 percent or more, in a range of the variation.

摘要: Systems and processes of providing novel thermal energy sources for hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) reactors are described herein. According to various implementations, the systems and processes use concentrated solar thermal energy from a focused high-energy beam to provide sufficient energy for driving the HTL biomass-to-biocrude process. In addition, other implementations convert biowaste, such as municipal biosolids and grease and food waste, to biocrude using anaerobic digesters, and a portion of the biogas generated by the digesters is used to produce the thermal and/or electrical energy used in the HTL reactor for the biomass-to-biocrude process. Furthermore, alternative implementations may include a hybrid system that uses biogas and solar radiation to provide sufficient thermal energy for the HTL reactor.

摘要: A ground supported single drum power boiler is described combining a refractory lined and insulated V-Cell floor; refractory lined and insulated combustion chamber; integrated fuel chutes configured to pre-dry wet solid fuel; top mounted fuel bin; internal chamber walls; configurable combustion air systems; and a back pass with after-burner ports and cross flow superheaters. The boiler can be configured in pre-assembled modules to minimize the field construction time and cost. An alternative embodiment is adaptable as a gasifier.

摘要: Methods and systems for low emission power generation in hydrocarbon recovery processes are provided. One system includes a gas turbine system configured to stoichiometrically combust a compressed oxidant and a fuel in the presence of a compressed recycle exhaust gas and expand the discharge in an expander to generate a gaseous exhaust stream and drive a main compressor. A boost compressor can receive and increase the pressure of the gaseous exhaust stream and inject it into an evaporative cooling tower configured to use an exhaust nitrogen gas having a low relative humidity as an evaporative cooling media. The cooled gaseous exhaust stream is then compressed and recirculated through the system as a diluent to moderate the temperature of the stoichiometric combustion.
