    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling that configures a channel measurement resource and an interference measurement resource within a same time interval. The UE may transmit a measurement report that indicates a signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) measurement that is generated based on measuring the channel measurement resource and the interference measurement resource. In some cases, the UE may receive a quasi co-location (QCL) relationship indicator that indicates a QCL relationship for the interference measurement resource or the channel measurement resource. The UE may measure the channel measurement resource and the interference measurement resource in accordance with the QCL relationship.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may use beamforming to transmit control and data transmissions to a set of user equipments (UEs). A base station may transmit downlink control information (DCI) to UEs that may indicate a set of resource allocations in which the base station may schedule a data transmission, and a respective transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state. The TCI state may indicate which transmission beam the base station may use to transmit a data transmission in a particular resource allocation. The UE may receive and decode the DCI and identify resource allocation information and an index that may indicate one or more TCI states being used for transmitting a broadcast or unicast transmission to the UE within a resource allocation. The UE may select one or more of the resource allocations to monitor for, and subsequently receive, the data transmission.

    Abstract: A method for adjusting communication symbol sub-carrier frequency spacing based on a communication symbol priority at a communication beam transition location includes identifying a communication beam transition location in time in a communication transmission time interval (TTI) where a communication beam transition will occur, and determining a configuration of a communication symbol at least partly based on the identified communication beam transition location and a priority of the communication symbol. The configuration may comprise an extended guard period created by adjusting the sub-carrier frequency spacing of at least one of the symbols that occurs at least one of immediately following the communication beam transition location and immediately preceding the communication beam transition location, so that the sub-carrier frequency spacing for the symbol that occurs at least one of immediately following the communication beam transition location and immediately preceding the beam transition location is different than a sub-carrier frequency spacing for a symbol that does not at least one of immediately precede the communication beam transition location and immediately follow the communication beam transition location.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described to enable base station and a user equipment (UE) to mitigate interference when using full-duplex communications. For example, a base station communicating with a UE via full-duplex communications may indicate for the UE to align the time of its uplink transmissions with the time the UE receives downlink transmissions. Additionally or alternatively, the base station may indicate a timing alignment window for the UE, where the window may consist of an allowed time period the UE may use to select a time to begin uplink transmissions. In some examples, the base station may select a cyclic prefix for full-duplex communications, where the cyclic prefix may be longer than a cyclic prefix used for other communications. Further, the base station may select uplink frequency and downlink frequency bands separated by a defined guard band for full-duplex communications.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An encoder may utilize a common mother code for encoding control information to each set of control channel resources of a control channel, control channel associated with multiple transmission configuration indication (TCI) states. For example, the common mother code may include utilizing same parameters when constructing the polar code for each set of control channel resources, where the parameters include a block length, a number of information bits, or both. Additionally, rate matching procedures for each control channel resource may differ (e.g., puncturing, shortening, or repetition). Additionally or alternatively, the mother code and rate matching may be determined based on a sum of all available coded bits in each control channel resource and the number of information bits. A decoder may then attempt soft combination of candidates from the different sets of control channel resources to obtain decoded control information.

    Abstract: Wireless devices may employ techniques for indicating alternative modulation coding schemes (MCSs) (e.g., MCS values or MCS indices not associated with a default list or default MCS table). That is, communications (e.g., such as physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmissions carrying downlink control information (DCI), physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmissions carrying uplink grants, etc.) may include information (e.g., in MCS fields and reserved fields) that indicate alternative MCSs for subsequent communications. For example, random access radio network temporary identifier (RA-RNTI) scrambled DCI, random access response (RAR) messages, etc., may indicate an alternative MCS for subsequent messages in a random access procedure (e.g., for a RAR, an RRC connection request, etc.). The alternative MCS may be conveyed by indicating information such as MCS scaling factors, alternative MCS table IDs, MCS indices associated with the alternative MCS table, or some combination thereof.

A TCI state activation message for a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) can include two TCI states for single frequency network (SFN) operation of a control resource set (CORESET) associated with a serving cell ID. A user equipment (UE) may receive the TCI state activation message and activate at least one of the two TCI states for each component carrier in the TCI state update list in response to the TCI state update list including the serving cell ID and based on a respective SFN configuration of each of the component carriers.
